The Costs of a Quiet Disorderselection may be an issue. We have made the case that our data are consistent with thepopulation of IIH sufferers at large, and if there is a bias it does so in a way that makes theestimates conservative.Currently little is known about IIH, nor has evidence based medicine identified anoptimal treatment path for the disorder. Clearly, the economic costs of this disorder, which arejointly borne by those suffering from IIH and society as a whole are quite substantial. As such, itmay be very useful for the medical and policy making communities to direct efforts towardsfinding ways to better treat and manage the disorder in order to reduce some of these costs.19
