24 / URSA Winter 19985# Allows you to choose another term to access its grades, GPA,and term and cumulative unit totalsThe information on URSA Telephone is the same as that available tothe Registrar’s Office staff. Grade changes and the replacement ofIncomplete grades are updated to the database daily. If grades arenot available on the telephone, they have not been received from theinstructor or are still being processed. All grades for a recent termshould be accessible no later than two weeks after the last day of finalexaminations.As needed, you may obtain a free printout of your grades for the mostrecent graded term at Academic Record Services, 1134 Murphy Hall,by presenting your valid BruinCard. Letters and Science undergraduatesadmitted since Fall Quarter 1988 may request a DegreeProgress printout at any time at A316 Murphy Hall. This report providesa detailed evaluation of transfer credit, courses and grades foreach completed term, degree requirements completed, and requirementsstill outstanding (you can view and print out your undergraduateDegree Progress Report via URSA OnLine.4# HoldsYou can obtain a reading of outstanding holds. Holds affect your eligibilityfor fee assessment, enrollment, grades, transcripts, diploma,and all campus services. To have a hold removed and reinstate restrictedservices, contact the issuer of the hold. Holds information isalso available via URSA OnLine.5# FeesYou can verify that your registration fees were received or declarenonattendance for a term.1# Use this function to verify that your registration fees were receivedand to confirm the date they were processed. Fee paymentinformation is also available via URSA OnLine.2# Use this function if you are not planning to attend UCLA for aterm (not including summer session) and your registrationfees have not been paid. If you use this function, see readmissioninformation under the “Academic Policy” section of thisschedule.6# Update or Review Selected Student DataYou can update or review your degree expected term (undergraduatesonly) or allow or discontinue ethnic based mailings, and specify(one time only) your ethnic background.1# Use this function to enter or change your Degree ExpectedTerm (the term in which you expect to graduate). You canchange this term freely until you have completed 160 units (172units for Engineering students). Once you have reached the unitlimit, your BAR account is charged a late fee of $13 each timeyou change your degree expected term.You can only enter the current term through Friday of secondweek. If you are a current-term candidate over the unit limit, youcan only change your degree expected term in person at 1113Murphy Hall.5# Use this function to be included or excluded in Ethnic BasedMailings which use your ethnicity as one of the selection criteria.Such mailings are generally approved for providing you withinformation regarding graduate school recruitment or other opportunities.6# Use this function to specify your Ethnic Background. This informationis used to monitor the University's compliance with federaland state civil rights laws. Once entered, this informationcannot be changed through URSA Telephone.2# Financial Aid InformationThe Financial Aid Information option assists students calling for statusinquiries. You can get up-to-date information regarding the statusof your financial aid application, the tracking of documents that yousubmitted, the progress of your financial aid award, and the amountsof your disbursements.7# Change Security CodeYou can use this option to change the four-digit security code whichallows you access to URSA Telephone or URSA OnLine. Whenchanging your security code, you should select one that you can easilyremember but is difficult for someone else to guess. You can alsochange your PIN via URSA OnLine.If you forget your security code, you can obtain this information inperson at 1113 Murphy Hall with proper identification. You cannot receivethis information over the telephone unless an authorization torelease your security code is on file in the Registrar’s Office. This authorizationmust contain your signature and a copy of some photoidentification. Theseadditional features will be released in the forthcoming months. Youwill be notified on URSA Telephone, Bruin OnLine, and in the DailyBruin when they are available.
