(çRPCLé), <strong>of</strong> which 99.26%shares were held by the <strong>Co</strong>mpany, <strong>The</strong> independent power producer (IPP) project consists <strong>of</strong> a cogeneration plant usingthe fuel <strong>of</strong> natural gas, totally 2 sets, with the net production capacity <strong>of</strong> 700 Megawatts each, totally 1,400 Megawatts.<strong>The</strong> Project is located at Village No.6, Ban Rai Sub - district, Damnern Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province, in thesame area as the power plant <strong>of</strong> Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public <strong>Co</strong>mpany Limited.As <strong>of</strong> December 31 st , 2006, Ratchaburi Power <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>. (çRPCLé) has its registered capital <strong>of</strong> 2,325 million Bahtand unpaid shares worth 75 million Baht. In summary, when its capital is paid up, the <strong>Co</strong>mpany will have the investment<strong>of</strong> approximately 800 million Baht for this project.Performances in 2006On February 27 th , 2004, Ratchaburi Power <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>. (çRPCLé) has entered into Power Purchase Agreement (PPA),Gas Sale Agreement (GSA), and Land Lease Agreement (LLA) ; whereas, EGAT agreed to purchase the whole electricitygenerated by Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Public <strong>Co</strong>mpany Limited within a contractual period <strong>of</strong> 25 yearssince the first cogeneration plant has discharged the electricity into the EGAT system in March 2008 ; and the secondcogeneration plant in June 2008 ; therefore, the project is highly reliable and secure.In addition to licenses and data obtained by Rachaburi Power <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>. (çRPCLé), which are disclosed in the AnnualReport 2005, in 2006, Ratchaburi Power <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>. (çRPCLé) has obtained licenses and signed agreements necessary forproject implementation, as follows :ë Signed the loan agreements, with the loan amount <strong>of</strong> 483 million US dollars ; and 6,500 million Baht ;ë Issued a notice - to - proceed (NTP) to the <strong>Co</strong>ntractor to commence the construction work ; at present, theproject is under construction ;ë Approved with the environmental impact assessment (EIA) report on the pipeline project (by the Office <strong>of</strong>Environmental Policy and Planning, Ministry <strong>of</strong> Natural Resources and Environment) ;ë Licensed to construct a building for installation <strong>of</strong> natural gas control facilities from Sam Ruan TAO ;ë <strong>The</strong> Ministry <strong>of</strong> Energy has announced the petroleum transport pipelines from the Operation Center, Area 5 <strong>of</strong>PTT (Public) <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>., to the gas receiving terminal <strong>of</strong> Rachaburi Power <strong>Co</strong>., <strong>Ltd</strong>. INVESMENT ININTERNATIONAL SCHOOLIn addition to investment in cogeneration plants in China, <strong>Saha</strong> - <strong>Union</strong> Group has diversified its businesses toeducation. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpany has joint - ventured with academic experts to operate an international school business, and hasbeen licensed as the exclusive franchisee <strong>of</strong> Dulwich <strong>Co</strong>llege London, England, to operate an international school businessin China under the English National Curriculum and has been given with technical support and counseling service onschool management and instruction that shared the same standard <strong>of</strong> excellence as in Dulwich <strong>Co</strong>llege London.<strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpanyûs international school in Jin Zhou Export Development Area, Shanghai, namely Dulwich <strong>Co</strong>llegeShanghai, is the first international school operated by <strong>Saha</strong> - <strong>Union</strong> Group. Founded in 2003, Dulwich <strong>Co</strong>llege Shanghainow <strong>of</strong>fers world - class education to 897 students from kindergarten up to Grade 12 ; in particular, students <strong>of</strong> Grade10 - 12, who are studying under the curriculum <strong>of</strong> International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, when finished, willbe welcomed for further study in universities worldwide. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpany has completely constructed the second, elegantand fully - equipped school building to the highest satisfactions <strong>of</strong> students and their parents, and has estimated that in2007 - 2008, the school will be able to accommodate approx. 1,126 students.<strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpanyûs second international school in Beijing, namely Dulwich <strong>Co</strong>llege Beijing, now <strong>of</strong>fers education to824 students from kindergarten up to Grade 9. It is estimated that in 2007 - 2008, the school will be able to accommodateapprox. 975 students ; and its new building consists <strong>of</strong> classrooms, gyms, and other facilities. In 2006, the Legend Gardenhas accommodated students <strong>of</strong> Grade 10 - 12. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpany is now acquiring a license for International Baccalaureate(IB) Diploma Program.<strong>The</strong> <strong>Co</strong>mpanyûs international school in Su Zhou is now under preparation and will be open in September 2007 forstudents up to junior high level ; however, the school will initially accommodate students from kindergarten to Grade 6.Annual Report 200643
