Cardio<strong>Lipid</strong> 2010<strong>13</strong> th <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Lipid</strong> <strong>Day</strong> &<strong>Interactive</strong> <strong>Cardiology</strong> Course5 th <strong>Annual</strong> meeting of the working group for <strong>Lipid</strong>ology, Vascular biology and Research10‐12 November 2010Dear colleagues, it gives me a great pleasure to invite you to participate in Cardio<strong>Lipid</strong> 2010 which will be held atStella De Mary convention centre, Elsokhna Egypt from 10 to 12 November 2010. In accordance with theobjectives of the working group for lopidology, vascular biology and research (WGLVR), the meeting will focus oncardiovascular protection , the role of different therapeutic modalities with emphasize on intensive medicaltreatment in comparisons with other interventional therapies. <strong>Interactive</strong> case discussion will, as usual, be asignificant part of the congress scientific program. About the <strong>Lipid</strong> <strong>Day</strong>:<strong>The</strong> annual lipid day has been started in 1998, the first meeting was held in Shebin ElKom, Menofiya attended atthat time by about 80 experts in the fields of cardiology, Diabetes and cardiovascular protection. <strong>The</strong> extensivediscussion during the meeting and the rapid progression of the knowledge in the field of lipidology andatherosclerosis raised the idea of repeating this meeting annually. From 1998 to 2003 the meeting was heldannually in the second Thursday of Ramadan for one day activity. Since 2004 the <strong>Lipid</strong> day was joined by theannual interactive cardiology course discussing interesting cases with audio‐reply system, not only in the field oflipidology, atherosclerosis and cardiovascular protection, but also in clinical and interventional cardiology. Sincethat time the meeting was held in Stella‐Di Mare conventional centre, El Sokhna, Egypt in 3 days activity. During<strong>The</strong> 8th annual <strong>Lipid</strong> <strong>Day</strong> (2005) the idea and proposed design of a multi‐center clinical survey of the risk factorprofile in Egyptian and Arab patients with acute coronary syndrome (<strong>The</strong> Egyptian Risk Factors and <strong>Lipid</strong> project)was discussed. <strong>The</strong> 9th annual <strong>Lipid</strong> day (2006) celebrated the founding of the Egyptian working group for<strong>Lipid</strong>ology, Vascular Biology and Research (WGLVR), as a division of the Egyptian Society of <strong>Cardiology</strong>. <strong>The</strong>name of the meeting has been changed to Cardio<strong>Lipid</strong> congress. Cardio<strong>Lipid</strong> 2006 included, in addition to the9th annual <strong>Lipid</strong> <strong>Day</strong> and interactive <strong>Cardiology</strong> Coarse, the 1st annual meeting of the working group as well asthe DeltaCardio activity of that year. From 2007 to 2009 the congress faculty included foreign guest experts andhas been internationally recognized and accredited by EBAC
