Thefilm is set in Myanmarwhere <strong>Keppel</strong> Land ownsand operates two hotels– Sedona Hotel Yangonand Sedona HotelMandalay.<strong>Keppel</strong> Land, which becamea signatory to the UnitedNations Global Compact(UNGC) on 13 December2011, also used the platformto spread awareness onUNGC’s 10 principles whichfocus on human rights,labour, the environment andanti-corruption.Addressing <strong>Keppel</strong>itesbefore the movie,Mr Choo Chin Teck, Directorof Corporate Services, <strong>Keppel</strong>Land, said, “As companiesface increasing demandfor accountability on theirsustainability practices, wewill strive towards integratingthe universal principles of theUNGC into the strategy,culture and operations of ourcompany.“The Lady underscoresthe principle of respectfor human rights, and weare pleased to present ascreening of the film to<strong>Keppel</strong>ites to empower staffwith the understanding thatpersonal commitment canmake a difference to enddiscrimination.” keppeliteWinning formula<strong>Keppel</strong> Bay Sailing Academy(KBSA) hauled in top honoursat the 8th HorsburghChallenge, Singapore’s mostanticipated and challengingannual keel-boat event,held over 17 to 19 Februarythis year.KBSA Principal, Tan ThongMeng, and Chief Instructor,Lynnette Leong, led six crewmembers, most of whom areex-KBSA students, to sweepsix out of seven awards. Asthe first to cross the finishingline, the team also garneredthe coveted “Line Honoursfor Horsburgh Passage”.Sharing exciting momentsof the race, skipper of theyacht, Thong Meng, shared,“The northeast monsoonended early this year andthe racing took place inextremely light and variablewind conditions.“The team executed sixhead sail changes within just30 minutes with exemplaryCan Do! spirit. Despitebattling strong adversecurrents, we completed the48 nautical mile HorsburghLighthouse passage under 10hours, putting us miles aheadof the fleet.
