© An Post <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Company <strong>20</strong>12 Interactive Instant <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Rules</strong>VERSION 1 JANUARY <strong>20</strong>12The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong><strong>Rules</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Game</strong> <strong>FG</strong> <strong>20</strong> <strong>“Safe</strong> <strong>Cracker”</strong>The following sets <strong>for</strong>th the rules <strong>for</strong> a <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> interactive <strong>Game</strong> (hereinafter known as <strong>“Safe</strong><strong>Cracker”</strong>) which will be operated by An Post <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Company (“the Company”) as part of The<strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong>.The <strong>Game</strong> will commence on a date to be announced, and will continue until the Company publiclyannounces a termination date.These rules have been approved by the Minister <strong>for</strong> Public Expenditure and Re<strong>for</strong>m in accordancewith Section 28 of the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Act 1986.GENERAL1. These rules are governed by The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Act 1986, the General <strong>Rules</strong> <strong>for</strong> The <strong>National</strong><strong>Lottery</strong>, NLC’s Interactive Terms and Conditions and the NLC Interactive Privacy Statement.Copies of the General <strong>Rules</strong> <strong>for</strong> The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong>, NLC’s Interactive Terms and Conditions,the NLC Interactive Privacy Statement and these <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> are available by writing to An Post<strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Company, Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1. The NLC Interactive Terms andConditions and the NLC Interactive Privacy Statement can also be accessed via the <strong>National</strong><strong>Lottery</strong> website with the following URL: www.lottery.ie.2. We recommend that prospective players read and understand the NLC’s Interactive Terms andConditions and the relevant <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> be<strong>for</strong>e playing any <strong>Game</strong>s. The Interactive Terms andConditions and NLC’s Interactive Privacy Statement are hereby incorporated into and <strong>for</strong>m partof these <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Rules</strong>.3. The Company reserves the right to vary these rules subject to the consent of the Minister <strong>for</strong>Public Expenditure and Re<strong>for</strong>m.4. The Company reserves the right to vary the <strong>for</strong>mat of the <strong>Game</strong>, and the value and number ofPrizes subject to the approval of the Minister <strong>for</strong> Public Expenditure and Re<strong>for</strong>m.6. Where the context so requires, in these <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Rules</strong>, the neuter gender shall include thefeminine or masculine gender and vice versa, the feminine gender shall include the masculinegender and vice-versa and the singular shall include the plural and vice-versa.DEFINITIONSThe following words and terms will have the following meanings unless the context clearly indicatesotherwise:1. Act means The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Act 1986.2. Company or We or Us or NLC means An Post <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> Company.3. Customer Support means the Company's customer services helpline, contact details of whichare set out in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section of the Website.4. <strong>Game</strong> means this <strong>National</strong> <strong>Lottery</strong> interactive <strong>Game</strong> which can be played by Players via theWebsite, in which the determination of whether or not a Player has won a Prize (and the level ofany such Prize) is predetermined by the Interactive System at the point of purchase of the Play.<strong>Game</strong> <strong>20</strong> Safe Cracker Page 3 of 7<strong>Version</strong> 1 Jan-12

The Player is required to log in to the Interactive System by entering a User ID and Password(created during the Player’s original on-line registration process) to gain access to this <strong>Game</strong>.7. When the Player has logged in to the Interactive System a choice of <strong>Game</strong>s will appear. ThePlayer chooses the <strong>“Safe</strong> <strong>Cracker”</strong> <strong>Game</strong> by clicking on the “Play Now!” link on the <strong>Game</strong> PlayWindow and/or the Player can view more in<strong>for</strong>mation about the <strong>Game</strong> by clicking on the “MoreInfo” link <strong>for</strong> that particular <strong>Game</strong>.8. When the Player opens the <strong>Game</strong> the Interactive System checks to ensure that the Player hassufficient credit in his Wallet to complete the transaction.9. The Player is then given the price of playing a <strong>Game</strong>, at which point the Player is invited to Play.10. The <strong>Game</strong> then connects to the Interactive System which randomly selects a Play from one ofthe Prize Tiers <strong>for</strong> this <strong>Game</strong>. The result <strong>for</strong> a Play is predetermined by the Interactive System.Effectively the Player’s interaction with the <strong>Game</strong> does not impact on the result.11. The opening screen shows instructions on how to play the <strong>Game</strong> and the Player must press the‘Continue’ button to commence Play.12. The Player may use the computer’s mouse to play the game.13. The following options are available to the Player at various stages during the <strong>Game</strong>: Continue: Starts the <strong>Game</strong> <strong>Game</strong> Help: Displays the <strong>Game</strong> instructions Sound On/Off: Toggles the sound on/off Pay Table: Displays the Prizes the Player has the possibility of winning Exit <strong>Game</strong>: Exits the <strong>Game</strong> and returns the Player to an in<strong>for</strong>mational page Play Again: Exits the <strong>Game</strong> and returns the Player to an in<strong>for</strong>mational page, where thePlayer has the option to Play again.14. An interactive graphic is presented to the Player on the <strong>Game</strong> Play Window which will display agrid of nine (9) closed safes (the “Grid”).15. Four (4) pairs of matching prize symbols representing various cash amounts and one (1) alarmedsafe are concealed behind the closed safes in the “Grid”. Each prize symbol represents a cashamount ranging in value from €1 to €2,000.16. To open a safe the Player must position his cursor over any of the nine (9) safes in any order andclick to open it. When opened the safe will reveal either a cash symbol or the alarm will beactivated, indicating the end of the game.17. The aim of the game is to match two identical cash symbols to win the cash amount revealedwithout activating the alarm.18. Once the Player has revealed the cash symbol in the safe, he proceeds to select another safe inany order. This process continues until the Player has revealed two identical cash amounts orhe has triggered the alarm.19. If the Player matches two identical cash symbols he wins the cash amount revealed and thegame ends.<strong>20</strong>. If the Player triggers the alarm be<strong>for</strong>e he matches two identical cash symbols the <strong>Game</strong> endsand the Player does not win a prize.21. Once the <strong>Game</strong> ends all of the symbols in the “Grid” are revealed to the Player. The screen willdarken and an “Exit <strong>Game</strong>” button, a “Play Again” button and any amount won by the Player willbe displayed.DETERMINATION OF PRIZES1. A Player who triggers the alarm be<strong>for</strong>e he matches two identical cash symbols does not win aprize (Prize Tier 1) and the game ends <strong>for</strong> that Player.2. A Player who matches two identical €2 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €2 (Prize Tier 3)4. A Player who matches two identical €3 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €3 (Prize Tier 4)5. A Player who matches two identical €4 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €4 (Prize Tier 5)6. A Player who matches two identical €5 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €5 (Prize Tier 6)7. A Player who matches two identical €10 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €10 (Prize Tier 7)8. A Player who matches two identical €<strong>20</strong> cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €<strong>20</strong> (Prize Tier 8)9. A Player who matches two identical €50 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €50 (Prize Tier 9)10. A Player who matches two identical €100 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €100 (Prize Tier10)11. A Player who matches two identical €500 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €500 (Prize Tier11)12. A Player who matches two identical €1,000 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €1,000 (PrizeTier 12)13. A Player who matches two identical €2,000 cash symbols is entitled to a prize of €2,000 (PrizeTier 13)PAYMENT OF PRIZES1. Low Tier Prizes will be paid directly into a Player’s Wallet.2. Mid Tier Prizes will be paid by cheque, stamped “Account Payee Only”, and posted to theaddress specified in Your Player Account.3. High Tier Prizes will be paid by cheque, stamped “Account Payee Only”, and must be redeemedat NLC headquarters or a prize claim centre (selected An Post Company Offices) following avalidation procedure. When a High Tier Prize claim is made at a prize claim centre (selected AnPost Company Offices) the Prize will be paid by cheque, stamped “Account Payee Only”, whichwill be posted to the address specified in a Player’s Account subject to completion of asatisfactory validation process, including but not limited to verification of a Player’s identity.4. The Company reserves the right to alter the method of payment of any Prize within this <strong>Game</strong>,subject to the approval of the Minister <strong>for</strong> Public Expenditure and Re<strong>for</strong>m.PRIZES1. The total number of Prizes in the <strong>Game</strong> as designed shall be no less than 228,5<strong>20</strong>.2. The odds of winning a Prize are 1:4.38 on average.3.
