Attachment 1Part 3Disclosable Pecuniary Interests in Matters Considered at Meetings1. If a member is present at an Authority Committee or Sub-Committee or JointCommittee or Sub-Committee and the member is aware that they have anydisclosable pecuniary interest (“DPi”) in a matter being considered but the interestis not entered in the register then the member must disclose the details of that DPito the meeting. If the Monitoring Officer is of the view that the nature of the DPi issensitive in that disclosure of details may expose the member to violence orintimidation then only the fact of the existence of a DPi need by made. 12. If the DPi is not entered in the register and is not the subject of a pendingnotification, the member must notify the Monitoring Officer before the end of 28days beginning with the date of disclosure. 23. The member may not participate or participate further in any discussion of thematter at the meeting or participate in any vote or further vote taken on the matterat the meeting and shall, if Authority Standing Orders so require, be excluded fromthe meeting while any discussion of the matter or vote thereon takes place unlessin any case the member has been granted a dispensation relieving the memberfrom either or both of the restrictions and is permitted under Standing Orders toremain in the meeting.1 Members are referred to Sections 30-34 of the Localism Act 2011 and to the statutoryregulations made thereafter for the full text of the statutory provisions dealing withdisclosable pecuniary interests, their disclosure and registration and the restrictions onparticipation in meetings.2 Member’s attention is drawn to the criminal offences set out in Section 34 of the Act forbreach of the statutory obligations and restrictions. Sanctions include a financial penaltynot exceeding level 5 on the standard scale and up to 5 years disqualification fromholding office in any relevant authority.
