This leads to higher rates ofcomplication. PLGA is a composite of glycolic and lactic acid, the ratio of which can be adjusted tochange its functional property such as resorption time. Additionally, the TriMed bioabsorbableline includes patented self-compression and self-locking technology.Why use bioabsorbable implants?There are many studies in literature that show comparable strength between standard metallicimplants and bioaborbable ones. A key advantage of bioabsorbable implants is its versatility. Bioabsorbableproducts eliminate the need for subsequent hardware removal in certain procedures andallow for gradual load transfer to healing bone.
