[6]We repent for the fear that the people lived in that they would be scattered abroad livingin isolated communities where they would be exposed to danger and be unknown andwithout honor and standing in their community. [6]We repent for this fear that led them to build this religious tower so that they could‘make a name for themselves’ . We repent for using the power of religion to share theglory of God and to make a name for ourselves and to try to control our lives and ourfuture. [6] We repent for this spirit of Babylon which uses religious authority to gainearthly power and prestige. [6]We repent for our self-will, the arrogance that would make us believe that we couldaccomplish anything that we wanted on our own without You. [6]Lord, help us not to avoid but to embrace the risks of establishing new frontiers, to befruitful and replenish the earth, to bring Your dominion to bear in places where there hadnot been any before, to fulfill the destinies that You have for our lives.
