Hale, ‘24Hale Celebrates100th BirthdayOnly Swann ResidenceHall and Butler Blanc Gymremain from when J.D. Hale,‘24, received his Carson-Newman degree. Oscar Samswas president and the officialrelationship with the TennesseeBaptist Convention was but fiveyears old. Hale has seen a lotof changes and has made manyfriendships. In celebration ofhis 100th birthday, familymembers and 70 long-timefriends gathered to visit withthe prominent Jefferson Cityattorney. As a student, Halewas the business manager ofboth the Orange & Blue and theAppalachian, and was presidentof both his junior class and theColumbian Literary Society.He later served several terms asa C-N trustee between 1938and 1973.Melissa Sharee Gould (‘01)works for the State of TennesseeDepartment of Children’sServices as foster care casemanager.Arthur B. Garnes (‘01) is workingto complete his Master of BusinessDegree in Australia. While at BondUniversity, he played on the soccerteam.Jonathan Brian Key (‘01) worksfor medical equipment companyAlliance Imaging, Inc. as theaccount manager for thesouthern region.Meredith Sentell (‘01) serves as anurse at the Greenville MemorialHospital, Greenville, SC.Joshua F. Edwards (‘02) accepteda position as interim director ofmusic at Thaxton Baptist Church,Bedford, VA.Michael A. Ott (‘02) is asecond lieutenant Army rangerwith the 187th Infantry. Hewas deployed to the MiddleEast in February 2003.Melissa R. Mask (‘02) works forJohn Alden Health in Duluth, GA.M. Todd Wood (‘02) and wife,Amy, were appointed as NAMBResort Missionaries to MyrtleBeach as of October 2002.Todd serves as director ofIntracoastal Outreach hosting1,500+ people coming as missionteams throughout the year. Theyalso work with the 71 localchurches in their association todevelop their missions programs.Julie Ann Seinko (‘02) worksas a graphic designer at ChristianDuplications International inOrlando.J.
