This became the firstWCDMA base station to be put in <strong>com</strong>mercialuse. In 2001, he was put in chargeof baseband system design for Ericsson'sWCDMA RBS3000. Zhongping has studiedelectrical engineering at Tongji Universityof Shanghai, China, the Technical Universityof Munich, Getmany, and the TechnicalUniversity of Vienna, Austria.
