Networking Takes the LeadL ast fall, more than 1,700 Deltasigs traveled to Norfolk,Denver, Dayton, Des Moines and Dallas for the 2012LEAD Schools. Networking became a focus duringopening session followed by exciting keynote speakers,an array of great programming, recognition of chapterand individual awards, community service efforts, andvisits from our partners. Thanks to all who helped makethese events a huge success!The LEAD season started in Norfolk, Va. with JasonLevin from Ready, Set, Launch LLC presenting “GoodMorning! What’s your question?” This session focusedon recognizing your own interests to help you achieveyour goals. The day progressed with a variety ofprofessional, career and chapter topics—also found at allthe LEADs.In Dayton, attendees started the day by voting for thebest chapter’s recruiting campaign followed by BrotherTim Augustine’s presentation of “Three Minutes thatCould Change Your Life.” This networking exerciseencouraged participants to break out of their shell andtake advantage of meeting like-minded people who havethe potential to change their lives. The day concludedwith the charter presentation to Epsilon Lambda Chapterat Rochester Tech.Denver’s event started with Brother Adam Carrollpresenting “Your Dream Job Is Waiting” which taughtattendees about making and utilizing connections.Closing session was full of presentations—nationalawards for DD of the Year, Chapter Advisor of the Yearand Most Outstanding Alumni Chapter and chaptercharters being presented to Rho Upsilon at Pepperdineand Rho Phi at Concordia.At the Des Moines LEAD School, Mitch Matthewspresented the BIG Dream Gathering Experience andinspired members to think about their own BIG dreamsas well as the BIG dreams of their campus and studentorganizations, and were given tools to put them intoaction.And we saved the largest event, with over 450registrants for last—the Dallas LEAD School. Themorning kicked-off with high-energy networking amongthe participants, and continued throughout the day viaa wide variety of education offerings. During lunch, aspecial presentation of the Order of the Diamond Helmetwas presented to PGP Bob Busse for his 75 years ofservice.
