User Manual1 Introduction1.1 General informationThe "DVA_S7 option package for SIMATIC S7" supports communications links between SIMOREG andSIMOVERT variable-speed drives and a higher-level SIMATIC S7 control system. The link is implementedusing the standardized PROFIBUS-DP communications system in accordance with the "PROFIBUS profilevariable-speed drives, PROFIDRIVE" /4/ or via the Universal Serial Interface Protocol (the USS ® protocol) /2/.This Manual describes the STEP 7 user program required for acyclic exchange of drive parameters between aSIMATIC S7-300 or S7-400 PLC as the master and drives as slaves in the bus system PROFIBUS-DP withDP/V1 expansions. The software in question is part of the "DVA_S7 option package for SIMATIC S7" and is to be found in theSTEP7 library "DPV1".1.2 Requirements1.2.1 Hardware• PC/PG with a Pentium 133MHz and at least 16MB RAM• S7-CPU 3xx/4xx with at least 12KB RAM and integrated PROFIBUS-DP interface• Communication boards in the drives with DPV1 channel (eg, CBP, CB15, CB155)1.2.2 Software• Windows95 / Windows NT (V4.0 or higher)• STEP 7 Version 3.x or higher• DVA_S7 object manager for drives1.3 Installation notesTo start the installation, please insert the DVA_S7-CD in the CD-ROM drive of your PG/PC and start theSETUP.EXE program. You will receive all further information during installation.1.4 Block functionsOne or several data blocks (DB "slave") form the user interface for parameter exchange between the PLCprogram and the drives. Two functions (FC 20) are available for sending and receiving parameters. This blockextracts the communication parameter set required to process the individual slaves from the data block "slave".Performance features:• Execution and monitoring of parameter requests (PKW requests).• Handling of parameter change reports (if supported by the slave).1.5 Net data contentFive parameter process data objects (PPO types) have been defined in /4/ for transmission of net data. These consist of a PZD area for the data and, if required, a PKW area for parameter processing. The PZD area contains signals necessary for process control, such as control words and setpoints from themaster to the slave and status words and actual values from the slave to the master. The PKW area allows the master to read and write parameter data and the slave to signal parameter changesin the form of parameter change reports. A maximum of 2 words of PKW data can be exchanged with a PKWrequest. These parameter requests (PKW) can be processed via the DPV1 channel acyclically and separately from thecyclic process data communication (PZD) as they occur. DPV1 communication allows transfer of up to 101words in one frame. A PKW request always refers to one parameter only. However, all the values ordescription data for that parameter can be transmitted in one frame.SIMATIC S7 PROFIBUS-DP Functions© Siemens AG 1998 All Rights ReservedE20125-C0011-S302-A2-7600 1
