TRUMPF at Tube, March 26 – 30, 2012
Messe Düsseldorf - Hall 6, Booth A30
One system for all tubes and profiles
The TruLaser Cell 1100 product family
Ditzingen, March 26, 2012 – Whether you need to machine
butt joints, flanged seams, T-joints, corner joints or lap joints,
versatile laser tools are capable of creating any type of joint
with consistent reliability. And they can do so in any material,
from mild steel or stainless steel to aluminum and non-ferrous
heavy metals, in thicknesses ranging from a tenth of a
millimeter to close to one centimeter. It is in tube and profile
welding applications like these that the laser really comes into
its own.
TRUMPF has developed a beam guidance system for the
TruLaser Cell 1100 product family that is optimized for tube
and profile welding. Whatever your machining application,
there is a version of the TruLaser Cell 1100 to meet your
specific needs for strip, tube or profile welding or the
processing of axially symmetrical parts. The optimum working
point can be set in a parallel plane or perpendicular to the
machining direction by means of the motorized axis control.
The beam does not necessarily have to be focused on the
welding area at a 90-degree angle: the SpeedLas optics also
allow seams to be welded at other angles. Depending on the
application and the materials to be joined, users can choose
between a CO2 laser and a solid-state laser as the beam
source.
The TruLaser Cell 1100 can be directly integrated in your
production line. With its compact design, it takes up no more
than five square meters – including the laser unit. The weld
seam is constantly monitored by the SeamLine weld-tracking
One system for all tubes and profiles
system, an exclusive TRUMPF development, and the welding
optics are adjusted accordingly in real time. In this way, an
optimum weld seam quality and maximum precision can be
guaranteed at every stage of the process, with the added
advantage of smooth visible welds that require no postprocessing,
and the ability to machine materials of different
diameters. The TruLaser Cell 1100 is a highly robust machine
suitable for a wide variety of applications. It can work around
the clock, welding tubes and machining semi-finished products
precisely to the customer’s specifications. It requires the
minimum of maintenance and, if ever anything should go
wrong, TRUMPF technicians are always on hand to provide
comprehensive telephone support. The machine’s remote
diagnosis functions enable TRUMPF service engineers to
access the machine’s software at any time – naturally not
without the user’s prior consent – and solve any operating
problems reliably and without delay.
Traceability and the protection of industrial property rights are
issues of growing importance in many sectors of industry. For
this reason, TRUMPF offers a laser marking unit for
integration in automated production lines downstream of the
welding unit, as an extension to the TruLaser Cell 1100. At the
Tube trade fair in Düsseldorf, TRUMPF will be demonstrating
the use of this unit as a means of writing indelible markings –
including barcodes, the manufacturing date, or decorative
patterns – on tube and profile products.
