HERCZIG & L. RONKAY (HNHM).Description – Female. Moderately sh<strong>in</strong>y; head, sides of scutellum and elytra blackish;pronotum lighter, dark brown with fuscous shad<strong>in</strong>gs except for basal slop<strong>in</strong>g and h<strong>in</strong>d anglesreddish; antennae and legs ferrug<strong>in</strong>ous. Covered with dense, recumbent, yellow-fulvousvestiture (Fig. 33). Frons convex, flat only at the anterior extremity; anterior marg<strong>in</strong> V-shaped,touch<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>ferior part of clypeus; punctures coarse, deep, umbilicate, with shortest sh<strong>in</strong>y<strong>in</strong>terspaces. Antennae not reach<strong>in</strong>g for about one antennomere the apices of h<strong>in</strong>d angles ofpronotum, feebly serrate from fourth antennomere; second and third antennomeres cyl<strong>in</strong>drical,subequal <strong>in</strong> length, taken together notably longer than fourth; fourth to tenth triangular, alittle longer than broad; last antennomere slightly longer than penultimate, ellipsoidal.Pronotum quadrangular, just wider than long, widest at posterior angles, very convex, abruptlyslop<strong>in</strong>g at sides and base; from basal declivity to middle with a narrow, shallow,midlongitud<strong>in</strong>al, smooth l<strong>in</strong>e; sides subparallel, suddenly narrow<strong>in</strong>g near apical extremity;h<strong>in</strong>d angles long, acute, not diverg<strong>in</strong>g; car<strong>in</strong>a straight depart<strong>in</strong>g from apex and reach<strong>in</strong>g aboutthe middle of pronotum; punctures on the disk deep, slightly umbilicate with shortest and sh<strong>in</strong>y<strong>in</strong>terspaces, gradually larger, denser, strongly umbilicate to the sides, contiguous at lateral extremity.Scutellum tongue-shaped, flat, f<strong>in</strong>ely punctured. Elytra as broad as pronotum at base,short, only 2.4 times longer than pronotum, convex; sides from base to apex gently and regularlytaper<strong>in</strong>g; striae deeply punctured; <strong>in</strong>terstriae flat, with rough surface. Fourth tarsomeredeeply furrowed, as long as wide. Propleura with narrow alutaceous area at lateral-posteriorsides. Bursa copulatrix sclerified as <strong>in</strong> Fig. 34. Size. Length 7.8 mm; width 2.3 mm.Male unknown.Etymology – This species is dedicated to Dr. ANDRÁS KUN (HNHM), lepidopterist,study<strong>in</strong>g taxonomy of Ethmiidae, and collector of a number of Taiwanese (and other EastAsian) beetles.Comparative remarks – This species with its very short elytra compared topronotum and the general outl<strong>in</strong>e is similar to Glyphonyx formosanus OHIRA,1972, but its antennae are shorter and the basal colour of pronotum is reddish.Glyphonyx k<strong>in</strong>taroui KISHII, 1991(Figs 38–39)Glyphonyx k<strong>in</strong>taroui KISHII, 1991b: 24; SUZUKI 1999: 214.Material exam<strong>in</strong>ed – 2 females.
