KUN.Agrypnus (Colaulon) herczigi sp. n.(Figs 1–2)Material exam<strong>in</strong>ed – Holotype female: Taiwan: Nantou County, Huisun Forest area, 15km N of Puli, 500 m, 7–8.VI.1997, B. HERCZIG & L. RONKAY (HNHM).Description – Female. Moderately sh<strong>in</strong>y; entirely black piceous, antennae and legs darkbrown; covered with sparse, coarse unicoloured yellowish scaly vestiture (Fig. 1). Head witheyes narrower than anterior marg<strong>in</strong> of pronotum; frons moderately impressed at middle, withanterior marg<strong>in</strong> obsolete; punctures coarse, deep, with shortest <strong>in</strong>terspaces to contiguous.Antennae short, not reach<strong>in</strong>g middle of pronotum, strongly serrate from fourth antennomere;second and third antennomeres subequal <strong>in</strong> length and a little longer than broad; secondsubcyl<strong>in</strong>drical, third subconical, a little narrower than second, and as long as fourth;fourth triangular, as long as broad; fifth to tenth acutely serrate, broader than long; last longerthan penultimate, ellipsoidal. Pronotum 1.2 times broader than long, widest about middle,convex, abruptly slop<strong>in</strong>g at sides, base without any trace of furrow; sides feeblydenticulate, conspicuously narrow<strong>in</strong>g from about middle towards apex; anterior angles prolongedto <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g the head to the ocular level; feebly narrow<strong>in</strong>g posteriorly, with short andobtusely truncate angles, not divergent; punctation uniform on whole surface, only withpunctures denser at lateral extremity, on the disk generally deep, simple with shortest andscarcely shagreened <strong>in</strong>terspaces. Scutellum quadrangular, only gently s<strong>in</strong>uate at sides, flat,densely punctured. Elytra as wide as pronotum at base, very short, only 2.15 times longer thanpronotum; humeral angles sharply po<strong>in</strong>ted; disk rather depressed <strong>in</strong> the first half; sides widestAnnls hist.-nat.
