Perioperative Haemodynamic
Management
Fast and Easy Monitoring
• Recognise unstable patients earlier
• Make the right decision
• Track the success of your therapy
Be proactive, not reactive with ProAOT!
ProAQT ® is one component of the PulsioFlex monitoring concept. Based on over 20 years of
research by PULSION with the PiCCO Pulse-Contour-Algorithm, ProAQT allows reliable and
physiological interpretation of the patient‘s haemodynamic status.
ProAQT® technology supports goal directed therapy and allows the review of interventions
to assess their success. Within minutes the monitoring range has been expanded to include
variables such as blood flow, volume responsiveness, afterload and contractility.
The ProAQT ® -Sensor is simply integrated into the existing blood pressure measurement system.
Indications and fields
of application:
• Perioperative optimisation of:
- high-risk patients
- high-risk procedures
• Assessment of therapy effect
• Early recognition of unstable patients
• Optimisation of pacemaker therapy
Parameter portfolio:
Flow: CI Trend , CI Cal , SVI
Volume responsiveness: SVV, PPV
Afterload: SVRI, MAP
Organ function heart: dPmax, CPI
Online oxygenation: DO 2 */**,VO 2 *, O 2 ER *
Option to switch between indexed and absolute values
*in combination with CeVOX
**in combination with LiMON
Uncalibrated CI monitoring may lead to different values com-
Trend
pared to calibrated systems, when used with vasopressor treatment
or in shock states or centralisation. PULSION StepWISE ®
concept proposes escalation to the PiCCO technology with calibrated
CI preload, lungwater and contractility in these patient
groups.
► Recognise instability, make the right decision - earlier!
► Easy setup using the existing arterial-line
► Manual calibration with a reference cardiac output possible
► Based on PiCCO algorithm
How does ProAQT cardiac index monitoring work?
AP
Automatic start value determination
Based on patient characteristics and details of the arterial pressure curve
(innovative 250 Hz sampling) a start value is determined for cardiac index
trend monitoring (CI Trend )
Alternative: Manual calibration
t
To increase accuracy a measured CI value (e.g Echo) can be entered for a
manually calibrated cardiac index monitoring (CI Cal )
► Integrated Signal-Indicator increases safety
Unique:
The ProAQT info light:
• The pulsating blue LED indicates
signal quality (e.g weak signal)
• The orange LED shows ProAQT-
Sensor status (e.g zeroing required)
Continuous CI
measurement
The pulse contour of the arterial
pressure curve is analysed and
the continuous cardiac index is
measured.
Benefits of perioperative
haemodynamic management:
• Reduction in length of hospital stay by 39%
1) Intraoperative volume loading to optimise stroke volume resulted in a
significantly reduced hospital stay after repair of proximal femoral fracture.
• Reduction in complications from 45% to 14%
2) Patients experienced significantly less gastrointestinal and overall
morbidity after colorectal surgery when the intraoperative fluid
management was stroke volume guided.
ProAOT and StepWISE
ProAQT CI trend monitoring is a part of PULSION‘s StepWISE® monitoring concept, an
important factor for perioperative management and risk minimisation.
ProAQT can close gaps in patient monitoring quickly and easily. When needed, escalation
to the PiCCO-Technology delivers missing haemodynamic parameters.
The PulsioFlex ® -Monitor offers, as a host for the ProAQT-Sensor, an unique user interface
that is optimised for the demands of the OR and Emergency Medicine.
