ChristmasAT B LUNDELL’ S<strong>School</strong> House pupils share ajoke with one of the SixthForm Monitors<strong>School</strong> House Christmas Meal, Entertainment and DiscoChristmas cracker jokesare as bad as they havealways been and it isstill difficult to keep yourhat on your head.Preparations for the <strong>School</strong> House ChristmasDinner start well before the meal in <strong>School</strong> –many mothers have been dealing with thethorny issue of dresses and shoes since theOctober half term. <strong>School</strong> House have theirown Christmas meal and wrap this up withtheir House entertainment and a Party. Thistakes place the night before the mainBlundell’s Christmas meal traditionally knownas ‘The Gut’. Kate Woolford and the otherMatrons decorated the tables and the kitchenstaff cooked a fantastic meal. This was thefirst of eight hundred Christmas meals thatthe kitchens produce during the end of termcelebrations. The <strong>School</strong> House Monitorsfrom Westlake, <strong>School</strong> House Tutors and HeadMaster are an integral part of the evening andenjoy themselves as much as the youngerchildren. After the meal everyone moves outof the Dining Hall into the Gym for the Houseentertainment. This year Mr Marshman, thenew head of SH, very bravely sang his owncomposition which mentioned many of thepupils by name. He may well regret this aseveryone is going to expect a new song eachyear – the birth of a fresh Christmas tradition?Once the entertainment finished the volumeincreased and the disco took over. The SixthForm Monitors didn’t leave the dance floorand passed on some pretty slick routines to<strong>School</strong> House.❮❮6
