This number isa dramatic increase from 2008 when we had only fourmen in seminary -- and is three more than we had lastyear! At the same time, this blessing presents thechallenge of ensuring we have enough funds to coverthe education costs, which currently averages $34,000annually per seminarian. To help address this need, allparishes have been asked to take up a special collectionon August 3 rd and 4 th . Funds received during this collectionwill be used solely to cover seminarian educationcosts (tuition, books, rooms & board, and health insurance).Any amount received in excess of our need willbe placed in an endowment in the Northern MichiganCatholic Foundation for future growth. You can help bymaking a gift to the Seminarian Education Fund andpraying daily for our seminarians and for an increasein all vocations. Please prayerfully consider your gift. This Week in Our CommunityMCC School Buildings Closed to ALL activities.Monday, July 226:30-7:30 pm RCIA (SJPC Library)Tuesday, July 233:15-5:15 pm Paper Recycle / Bottle & Can Drop Off(MCC - Paper Truck)5:30-7:00 pm Community Table (SJPC)6:15 pm Pinochle (SJPC lower level lounge)Wednesday, July 246:00-8:00 pm YM Beach Night (5 th Ave. Beach)Thursday, July 253:15-5:15 pm Paper Recycle / Bottle & Can Drop Off(MCC - Paper Truck)4:30-7:00 pm ‘Thanksgiving in July’ Dinner Benefitfor Matthew 25:35 Food Pantry (SJPC)7:00 pm ‘Children of Light’ Prayer Group (SM)Friday, July 2612:00 Noon Manistee County 24-hour Relay forLife Begins (Manistee High School)7:00 pm 4th HARVEST Early Bird DrawingSaturday, July 2710:00-2:00 Paper Recycle / Bottle & Can Drop Off(MCC - Paper Truck)Key Code: GA - Guardian Angels Church; GAPC - Guardian Angels Parish Center; MCC - Manistee Catholic Central;SJ - St. Joseph Church; SJPC - St. Joseph Parish Center; SM - St. Mary Church; SMPH - St. Mary’s Parish Hall

We had an outstandingturn out of adult and student stewards. It was wonderfulto have everyone sharing their time and talentstogether. The weather was bright and sunny, the foodwas delicious, children’s games were fun, and the musicand dancing was great . . . but what I noticed all day,as I looked around the picnic, was the fellowship.Watching the parishioners of the CCM enjoying eachother’s copy . . . that was the icing on the cake! Thankyou again to everyone in the CCM for making the picnica success.Matthew 25:35 Food PantryThanks and much appreciation to Fr. John, Fr.
