Our theme this year is . . . "HARVEST presents Alice in Wonderland"This fundraiser has generated more than $1.5 milliondollars, and is the largest annual fundraiser sponsoredby the school. It has evolved over the years, from asimple dinner, with a handful of auction items, to anelegant evening, "the social event of the year in Manistee"including food, raffles, auctions and entertainment ... allfor Our Beloved School! All the contributions over theyears have helped provide a high quality, faith-basedChristian education for all who wish to attend MCC.Please consider supporting the HARVEST event thisyear with a donation or by volunteering to help, or comejoin us for a night of great fun. Our event last year wasvery successful and plans are in the works for anotherfabulous gala. Afterposting the position internally, Mrs.Skipski eagerly expressed interest inthe position, interviewed, and waswelcomed to her new role, along withher current role of part-time Pre-SchoolAide. She is a graduate of Shelby HSwhere she played volleyball, participated in track, andsoccer. She was the MCC middle school assistantvolleyball coach last season and is slated to be theMS head coach this fall. Mrs. Skipski also receivedher Early Childhood Development degree from WestShore Community College. Her husband, Kevin, is an’85 alumnus of MCC.I recently asked Mrs. Skipski to elaborate on the followingareas of her new position as Athletic Director:*What is your philosophy of athletics/extracurricularteams in school?“Being a part of any athletic or extracurricular team atManistee Catholic Central is a privilege. I strongly believe that participating in athleticsand extracurricular teams give students an opportunityto develop team building skills and learn the importanceof commitment and punctuality, thus playing a key rolein their growth and development as individuals.”*What did athletics do for you as a student athlete?“Being a student athlete provided me with several opportunitiesto grow as an individual.
