GENERAL INFORMATIONABOUT THE CONFERENCEThe ACSUS biennial conference, established in 1971, is the leading international event focusing on Canadaand its relationship with the US, North America and the world. The event provides an important forum foracademic, policy and government communities to interact within a prism of intersecting perspectives.The theme for the 2007 conference—Toronto, Ontario, Canada: Exemplar for the 21st Century, introducesspace to profile the progressive attitude of Canada, its cities and provinces. An afternoon summit analyzingOntario’s intergovernmental relations with Quebec and the US will be held in partnership with Glendon College.Water policy in the 21st century will be explored in a series of panels organized by the University of Lethbridgewith focus on the Great Lakes and transboundary issues.The program includes more than 110 panels and roundtables across fifteen disciplines in addition to plenaryaddresses by Government ministers from Canada, Ontario, Quebec and Alberta and roundtables celebratingCanada’s brightest literary talent. It is fitting that the conference should conclude on Sunday with an excursionto the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario, the only major public art gallery devoted solelyto the collecting and exhibiting of Canadian art.REGISTRATIONAll conference attendees are required to register at the ACSUS registration desk where name badges andconference materials will be distributed. Please note that name badges are needed to gain access to allconference functions and events.
