MITOCHONDRIA<br />
Two forms of tubular cristae are presented here for comparison at higher<br />
magnification. The small granules in the dense matrix in the lower figure are believed to<br />
be mitochondria1 ribosomes. This micrograph shows that they are smaller than the<br />
ribosomes in the surrounding cytoplasm.<br />
