FOUNDATIONACTIVITIES20th Anniversary CampaignThe Foundation launched its 20th Anniversary Campaign inlate 2003 as part of its 20th anniversary celebration. TheCampaign seeks to increase the organization's effectiveness and stabilityover time. Specifically, the Campaign's success will allow theFoundation to:• Solidify its ongoing programs;• Initiate new projects seeking policy changes at the nationaland international levels; and• Ensure the continuity of its programs through incomegenerated from endowment.For more than 20 years, the Foundation has provided a voice of reasonin a troubled world now faced with ongoing proliferation, terrorismand policies that make the use of nuclear weapons morelikely.The urgency of today's challenges calls for a bold response and theparticipation of all those concerned with creating a more securefuture. Against this backdrop, the Campaign was launched to provideinnovative thinking, broad public education and committedaction to the challenges confronting our world.Through public education on issues of nuclear policy, theFoundation continues to create a knowledgeable, committed andactive citizenry, both in the US and around the world. The successof this Campaign will help ensure that we reach policymakers withthe concerns of these individuals, as well as with the research andinformation they need to make informed decisions affecting thesecurity of current and future generations.Congresswoman Lois Capps speaking at the launch of the20th Anniversary Campaign. Carter.This is the Foundation's first major fundraising campaign, and weare pleased to share that as of this writing, the Campaign has raisedpledges and/or gifts totaling more than $1.6 million. TheCampaign is in its final stage and will be concluding very soon. Wehope that all those interested in supporting a more secure worldwill take part in this endeavor.One such individual who supported the Campaign is Helena Hale.Here is what she had to say, "I contribute to the NAPF because Ibelieve the NAPF's work to promote peace and non-proliferation isan immediate priority for the preservation of our civilization. Ifnot now, when?"
