Catholic High Welcomes Austrian Students!Catholic High was excited to welcome seven students from a Catholic co-ed school inAustria on Friday March 8, 2013. Each Austrian student was paired with a Catholic Highstudent, selected by Principal Mrs. Meyd. While visiting, the girls stayed with the family oftheir Catholic High hostess and attended classes with their hostess. Before leaving CatholicHigh on March 18, the girls went on a bus trip to Washington, D.C. with their hostessesand other students from their school in Austria visiting other area high schools.Jessica Mahla ’13, one of the ladies selected to be a hostess, said, “I’m so glad Catholic Highgave me the opportunity to host a student from Austria. We have already become closeand it’s neat to see the differences in our cultures such as our food portions being so largehere in America.” The Catholic High host families ensured the Austrian students had anauthentic Baltimore experience, with activities such as visiting the Inner Harbor and eatingMaryland crabs.We would to recognize all of our host families who have been so hospitable in welcomingour special guests!
