1. <strong>Organisational</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Strategy</strong> (see Appendix 1)A supporting document to the HR <strong>Strategy</strong> is the <strong>Organisational</strong> <strong>Development</strong> <strong>Strategy</strong>. <strong>The</strong>document outlines the future direction of travel and key priorities for the Trust with regard to<strong>Organisational</strong> <strong>Development</strong> (OD).<strong>The</strong> OD <strong>Strategy</strong> will support the delivery of the Trust strategic objectives through enabling realand lasting change and improving organisational effectiveness and capability. In addition itclearly reflects the overarching national aims for the NHS; including the Lord Darzi report andthe NHS Constitution.<strong>The</strong> key aims of the strategy are to:• Enable a Service Line Management Model that ensures autonomy and accountability ata business unit level.• Develop effective leaders and managers throughout the organisation.• Enable performance optimisation through a cultural shift from employee compliance toemployee engagement and commitment.• Enable the organisation to embrace change.<strong>The</strong> Trust’s OD <strong>Strategy</strong> should be read in conjunction with the Human Resources <strong>Strategy</strong> andthe Education and Training <strong>Strategy</strong>.* * * * *Page 2TB 08-03-10
