KemGuard ® - your scale control chemistryin cooling water applicationsOur KemGuard ® products for scale control in cooling water plants are polymeric antiscalantsdesigned to handle the mineral scale problems encountered by industrial plants.As part of a coherent water treatment program, KemGuardantiscalants inhibit the precipitation of mineral based scale likecalcium carbonate, calcium sulphate, calcium phosphate, ironand manganese deposits, and silica/silicates (amorphous silica /iron, aluminum, calcium, and magnesium silicates). Mineral scaleis commonly found in cooling towers. The dominant mineralscale in cooling water, primarily in heat exchangers and coolingtowers will depend on the source water, cycles of concentration,pH, conductivity, operating temperatures, residence time,suspended solids, microbiological growth and other factors.The products alter crystal morphology, prevent growth of alreadyformed crystals and disperse particulate matter. The productsare recommended for use in cooling water systems. This rangeof functions promotes cleaner systems, leading to better heattransfer, improved economics, and longer equipment life. Theyare fully compatible with commonly used chemicals in coolingwater systems.
