H0300 Event LoggerThe SELCO H0300 Logger is a standalonelogger system for the SELCOM1000C Alarm Annunciator, theM3000-30 Analog Alarm Annunciator, the SELCO M4780 Indicator and theSELCO H1500 Indicator Panel.• Stand-alone logger unit• Event log in display• Event log on printer• Repeating events from one slave unitto another• Built-in siren relay• Supports M1000C, M3000-30,M4780 and H1500• RS485 interface for field-buscommunication• Standard MODBUS-RTU protocol• Cable length up to 1000 metres onthe bus• PC configuration via RS232 interfacePWRRUNNOYESH0300 EVENT LOGGER02-04 10:24:05High Oil Temp.CFG12345Communication errorPrinter errorNonacknow. alarmInvalid responseNew alarmApplicationThe H0300 Event Logger can log alarmsand events from SELCO alarm monitorsand indicator panels, connected to acommon 2-wire RS485 interface bus.Up to 63 units can be connected to thebus, where the maximum cable lengthis approximately 1000 metres. All events from the units are loggedwith related date and time. The latest 32events are stored in the internalmemory of the H0300.A standard Centronics printer can beused for printout of all events. The H0300 can also be configured to actas an event repeater. It can transfer LEDindications from one unit to anotherthrough the common bus.Multiple relations between sourceunit - LEDs and destinationunits - LEDs, where to repeat theindications, can be defined.RS485 repeaters can be used forextension. The H0300 can survey a total of 63 unitsand it provides instant visible andaudible alarm, should the communicationfail to any one of the connectedunits. The unit has a built-in siren relay foraudible annunciation. Alarms andevents can be acknowledged at the frontpanel.A back-lit display is provided for on-sitemonitoring of the latest 32 events. Eachevent is logged with date and time. The display will automatically showboth device number, channel number,LED state and a 32-character descriptivetext. The user can acknowledge each of thealarms located in the log by using thefront panel keyboard.FunctionThe H0300 connects to the M1000,M3000, M4780 and the H1500 by themeans of a two-wire RS485 serialcommunication bus.The maximum length of the bus cable is1000 metres; however various kinds ofFig. 1. H0300 print out.

Four arrow keys are provided fornavigation among the events in thememory log.By default the display will show actualdate and time plus the number ofunacknowledged events present in thememory log.The log has a battery backup system topreserve its contents during a possiblepower disruption.A standard parallel printer with aCentronics interface can be connecteddirectly to the H0300. The printer willprovide a hard copy of the log showingevery event captured by the H0300.Each event is logged with date, time, unit number, channel number and adescriptive text. The log will also showany change made to the configurationof the H0300.The correct function of the printer iscontinuously surveyed by the H0300.The printer must support 80 charactersper line. The H0300 can also perform an eventrepeating function. This functionprovides the convenient feature oftransmitting a LED indication from oneunit to another (through the 2-wire busconnection). The user can define any number ofrelations between the LEDs of the unitsconnected to RS485 bus. Thereby it isnot necessary to hardwire outputs toinputs, as the indication is transmittedover the common two-wire busconnection. On the front panel of the H0300 are fiveLEDs. These LEDs provide visibleindication of alarm status, communicationand printer errors.A retractable paper label is provided forlocal language descriptions. Two LEDswill show the operational status of theH0300.The H0300 includes a real time clockand calendar. The date and time can beset directly on the unit. Summer andwinter times are adjusted automatically(can be disabled).Various logging functions can also beconfigured using the front facia LCDand keyboard.Advanced configuration is donethrough the built-in RS232 connectionusing any personal computer with anANSI terminal application (e.g.Windows HyperTerminal - see fig. 4).Various commands are available, forinstance text descriptions of all eventscan be copied from the computer’sstorage to the H0300 using a simplewrite-text command. On the rear panel are four dipswitcheswith the following functions (see fig. 2.):Dipswitch no.:1 Master mode (OFF)2 No summer / winter time change (ON)3 Printer is not used (ON)4 Configuration from keyboard is denied (ON)Resampling dipswitch 1: H0300 canonly operate in master mode.SupplyConnection terminalsfor the 24V DCpower supply.RS485 MODBUSRS485 interface for field-buscommunication with MODBUSslave unit.
