Firearms, tobacco in any form, bicycles, and pets are notallowed at the School, except as specially permitted underspecific school regulations.Boys are not permitted to ride in cars, except when witha member of the School faculty or staff on official schoolbusiness.The School colors are Cardinal and White.There is ample opportunity to buy candy and other lightrefreshments at the School Store and in The Bailing Room,a canteen operated by the Woman's Auxiliary. Parents arerequested not to send their sons any food except on specialoccasions such as birthdays, and then to send such specialgifts in care of their son's advisor.The School maintains a Store from which boys may purchasebooks, stationery, athletic equipment, candy, and suppliesof various kinds at little more than cost price. EQUIPMENTDress requirements are very simple. To insure that his appearancewill be neat, clean and orderly at all times, a boy shouldhave at St. Andre·w·'s about the same wardrobe that he has inhis own well ordered home. It is suggested that each boy bringat least the following articles:1 overcoat1 raincoat1 hat or cap1 dark suit for Sundays andspecial occasions2 suits for everyday use andextra flannel, corduroy,khaki slacks1 light sweaterI heavy sweater or windbreaker8 shirtsEach boy is expected to provide:1 pair black shoes for Sundays1 pair shoes for "everyday"6 sets underwear3 pair pajamas1 dozen pair socks1 dozen handkerchiefs1 bathrobeI pair slippersI pair rubbers or galoshes1 pair heavy gloves1 pair swimming trunks4 sheets 72" x 1 08" 6 bath towels3 pillowcases 36" x 42" 6 wash cloths3 blankets and comforter 2 large laundry bagsThe folloTvv-ing articles are suggested: ice skates, tennis racquet,squash racquet, baseball glove. If a boy wears glasses, he shouldbring two pairs to be prepared for an emergency. All boys areexpected to have a Bible.Each article must be conspicuously marked with a printed name tape(sewed on four sides) bearing the ov;rner' s name as it appears onhis application.The following narking locations aTe suggested:On the inside of collar band at back of neck of shirts, coats, etc.On the inside left front top edge of trousers and pants.On the inside top, vertically, on socks.On the riglit side of a corner of linen so that tape is visiblewhen the article is folded.On the tongue of shoes, band of hats, wrist of gloves, etc.All luggage must have a name tag' attached to the handle, andmust be marked inside with the owner's name and address.21
