ApplicationInstructionsMixingApplication Method /ToolsCleaning of ToolsWaiting Time /OvercoatingNotes on Application /LimitationsCuring DetailsCuring TreatmentSikagard ® -706 Thixo is supplied ready for use and should not be thinned or diluted.Sikagard ® -706 Thixo is applied using airless spray, brush or roller, from top tobottom in a single pass.Clean all tools and application equipment with Colma Cleaner immediately afteruse. Hardened / cured material can only be mechanically removed. Can be overcoated with water and solvent based polymer paint - contact theproposed paint manufacturer for recommendations.Sikagard ® -706 Thixo can be used as water repellent primer under many Sikagard ®protective coatings. Penetration of water is thus prevented at possible weak spotsor in the event of damage to the top coat and the risk of consequential damagessuch as paint flaking can be reduced.Waiting time: minimum 5 hours, maximum 1 week.Best results are achieved when Sikagard ® -706 Thixo is applied on 28 days oldconcrete – however, due to its high alkali resistance, it is still possible to apply it ata very early age.Areas such as window frames which still need to be painted must be securelycovered to avoid contact with Sikagard ® -706 Thixo.Areas not to be impregnated such as window panes need to be protected frombeing accidentally contaminated with Sikagard ® -706 Thixo .Sikagard ® -706 Thixo can damage some coatings and bituminous products.Sikagard ® -706 Thixo can lead to darkening of concrete, apply sample areas first.Cannot be overcoated with limewash or cement paint.Apply Sikagard ® -706 Thixo onto a sample area to confirm consumption rates.Refer to the latest Method Statement for detailed information regarding surfacepreparation, application method, etc.Sikagard ® -706 Thixo does not require any special curing but must be protectedfrom rain for at least 3 hours at +20°C.3 3/5Sikagard®-706 Thixo

CE LabellingThe harmonised European standard EN 1504-2 “Products and systems for theprotection and repair of concrete structures – Definitions, requirements, qualitycontrol and evaluation of conformity – Part 2 Surface protection system forconcrete” specifies the requirements for hydrophobic impregnation to be used toprotect concrete structures (either building or civil engineering structures).Hydrophobic impregnations used as concrete protection fall under thisspecifications – they need to be CE-labelled as per Annex Za.2, table Za.2conformity 2+ and fulfil the requirements of the given mandate of the ConstructionProduct Directives (89/108/CE).ConstructionDepth of penetration:0921Sika Services AGFactory Number 1105Tüffenwies, Zürich, Switzerland080921-BPR-2015EN 1504-2Surface protection productsHydrophobic ImpregnationClass II: ≥ 10 mmWater absorption and resistance to alkali as:Absorption ratio:Absorption ratio:< 7.5% compared withthe untreated specimen< 10% after immersionin alkali solutionDrying rate: Class I: > 30%Resistance to freezethaw salts stress:ComplyDangerous substances comply with 5.34 4/5Sikagard®-706 Thixo
