Transfer <strong>to</strong> Tiberias for dinner and overnight inTiberias / Sea <strong>of</strong> Galilee.Day 3 – Sunday, March 2: Boat ride, Ancient JesusBoat, Capernaum, Mt. <strong>of</strong> Beatitudes, Sea <strong>of</strong> GalileeAfter breakfast we start <strong>the</strong> day with a Boat Ride on <strong>the</strong>Sea <strong>of</strong> Galilee, <strong>the</strong>n a visit <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ancient Boat, believed<strong>to</strong> be from Jesus time at Kibbutz Ginosar. We leave <strong>the</strong>Sea <strong>of</strong> Galilee, and drive <strong>to</strong> Capernaum, <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>wn Jesusmade his home after leaving Nazareth. Capernaum is<strong>the</strong> place where Jesus recruited <strong>the</strong> first <strong>of</strong> disciples.(Mat<strong>the</strong>w 4:13, Luke 4:31-37, Mat<strong>the</strong>w 8:14-17, Mark2:1-12, Mat<strong>the</strong>w 8:5-13, Mark 5:21-43, Mat<strong>the</strong>w 11:23-24). We visit <strong>the</strong> excavation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ancient Synagogueand <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong> St. Peter. Visit Mount Beatitudeswhere Jesus delivered <strong>the</strong> Sermon on <strong>the</strong> Mount(Mat<strong>the</strong>w 5:1-12). Dinner and overnight in Tiberias /Sea<strong>of</strong> Galilee.Day 4 – Monday, March 3: Tel Dan, CaesareaPhilippi, Ein Harod, Beit SheanAfter breakfast we drive <strong>to</strong> Caesarea Philippi, wherePeter made <strong>the</strong> good confession <strong>of</strong> Christ as “<strong>the</strong> Son <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> living God” (Mat<strong>the</strong>w 16:13-16.). We will have ashort hike/walk <strong>to</strong> Tel Dan where we will see <strong>the</strong> gate <strong>of</strong>Jeroboam. We visit Ein Harod, <strong>the</strong> site <strong>of</strong> Judge Gideon(Judges 7: 1-25). After, we drive <strong>to</strong> Bet She’an <strong>to</strong> see <strong>the</strong>recent excavations that have disclosed <strong>the</strong> impressiveruins <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> country’s largest city in <strong>the</strong> Roman andByzantine periods, which was destroyed by anearthquake in 749 CE. Dinner and overnight inTiberias /Sea <strong>of</strong> Galilee.Day 5 – Tuesday, March 4: Megiddo, Mt. Carmel,Caesarea, JerusalemWe depart from <strong>the</strong> Sea <strong>of</strong> Galilee and drive <strong>to</strong>Megiddo, <strong>the</strong> fortress city <strong>of</strong> King Solomon, later builtupon by King Ahab. The books <strong>of</strong> Daniel and Revelationwill come alive as we studyabout <strong>the</strong> final Battle <strong>of</strong>Armageddon (Revelation 16:14-19). View <strong>the</strong> Plains <strong>of</strong>Jezreel. We will drive by andview Mt. Carmel, <strong>the</strong>“Mukhraka” <strong>the</strong> site whereElijah challenged and defeated<strong>the</strong> 450 prophets <strong>of</strong> Baal.(King18:20). We continue oursightseeing <strong>to</strong>ur with a visit <strong>to</strong>Caesarea, <strong>the</strong> city that Petercame <strong>to</strong> convert Corneliusafter <strong>the</strong> vision at <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong>Simon <strong>the</strong> Tanner (Acts 10: 1-23). Caesarea, <strong>the</strong> seat <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Roman Procura<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Judeain <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> Christ and is <strong>the</strong>place St. Peter converted <strong>the</strong>centurion Cornelius (Acts10:24). We will explore <strong>the</strong>Roman Theater, <strong>the</strong> aqueductand view <strong>the</strong> ruins <strong>of</strong> Roman,Byzantine and Crusader times.We continue our drive <strong>to</strong>Jerusalem, entering <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong>Jerusalem in <strong>the</strong> traditionalway, viewing <strong>the</strong> city from Mt.Scopus. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.Day 6 – Wednesday, March 5: JerusalemAfter breakfast we'll ascend <strong>the</strong> Mount <strong>of</strong> Olives(Mat<strong>the</strong>w 24:3, Luke 21:37), for a breath takingpanoramic view <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> old city <strong>of</strong> Jerusalem. We willwalk along <strong>the</strong> Palm Sunday Way, and descend <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>Garden <strong>of</strong> Gethsemane (Mat<strong>the</strong>w 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-45, Mark 14:32-42), where Jesus spent <strong>the</strong> last nightbNvCtD&owwtm


efore he was arrested. We visit <strong>the</strong> Church <strong>of</strong> All <strong>the</strong>Nations, walk along <strong>the</strong> “last Way” <strong>to</strong> Mt. Zion ,andvisit St. Anne Church, which is a fine sample forCrusader architecture. We visit <strong>the</strong> Pools <strong>of</strong> Be<strong>the</strong>sda,cross <strong>the</strong> Kidron Valley, andsee <strong>the</strong> Tombs <strong>of</strong> Absalom,Zachary and James. Drive <strong>to</strong>Mount Zion and visit <strong>the</strong> LastSupper room (Mat<strong>the</strong>w 26: 17-25) and King David’s Tomb.We’ll end <strong>the</strong> day with a visit<strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> house <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> high priest,Caiaphas, and visit <strong>the</strong> church<strong>of</strong> Peter in Gallicantu(Mat<strong>the</strong>w 26:31-35). This is <strong>the</strong>place where Peter denied <strong>the</strong>Lord 3 times. Dinner andovernight in Jerusalem.Day 7– Thursday, March 6:Massada, Lunch & Swim at<strong>the</strong> Dead Sea, Ein Gedi,Qumran, JerusalemDepart our hotel for a visit <strong>to</strong>Massada, <strong>the</strong> site <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mostdramatic act in <strong>the</strong> JewishHis<strong>to</strong>ry. We will ascendMassada by cable car. Weexplore <strong>the</strong> ancient excavation<strong>of</strong> Hero’s Palaces, bathhouse,<strong>the</strong> s<strong>to</strong>rerooms, <strong>the</strong> Ramp, and<strong>the</strong> oldest Synagogue in <strong>the</strong> world. We will drive <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>Dead Sea, proceeding <strong>to</strong> a hotel in Ein Bokek for lunch& swim. After lunch, we continue <strong>to</strong> Ein Gedi, an Oasison <strong>the</strong> Dead Sea shore. Near <strong>the</strong> 200 meter highwaterfall is a cave where David had his famous meetingwith King Saul (First Samuel 24: 1-23). The Walk around<strong>the</strong> reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>most beautiful reservations in <strong>the</strong> world. We visitQumran, where <strong>the</strong> 2000 year old Dead Sea Scrollswere found. Drive, via <strong>the</strong> Judean Desert, and ascend <strong>to</strong>Jerusalem. We will pass <strong>the</strong> traditional site <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Inn<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Good Samaritan. Dinner and overnight inJerusalem.Day 8 – Friday, March 7: JerusalemAfter breakfast drive <strong>to</strong> Mt Moriah (Luke 2:46-48, John,8:1-11, Mark 13:1-2, Mat<strong>the</strong>w 27:51). Walk up <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>Temple place and visit <strong>the</strong> Dome <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Rock and <strong>the</strong> ElAqsa Mosque, continue <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Western Wall, one <strong>of</strong> lastremnants <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> second Jewish Temple. We visit andexplore <strong>the</strong> Rabbinical Tunnel (Western Wall Tunnel),walk through <strong>the</strong> Jewish Quarter and visit <strong>the</strong> HerodianMansion and <strong>the</strong> Burnt House. We’ll end <strong>the</strong> day witha visit <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Davidson Center, <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>rn Wall Stairs,visit <strong>the</strong> City <strong>of</strong> David, <strong>the</strong> Pools <strong>of</strong> Siloam andHezekiah's Tunnel. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.Day 9 – Saturday, March 8: Jerusalem, Bethlehem,Farewell Dinner, DepartureWe start our day with a visit <strong>to</strong> Bethlehem and will see t<strong>the</strong> Shepherds Field and visit <strong>the</strong> Church <strong>of</strong> Nativity.Afterwards we make our way back <strong>to</strong> Jerusalem for avisit <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Israel Museum, <strong>the</strong> Shrine <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Book(where some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Dead Sea Scrolls and Bar Kokhvaletters are exhibited). Visit <strong>the</strong> Scale Model <strong>of</strong> Jerusalemfrom <strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> Jesus. We continue <strong>to</strong> Yad Vashem, <strong>the</strong>Holocaust Museum, and end <strong>the</strong> day at <strong>the</strong> GardenTomb.
