This combination of functionscan save the expense of an extra power amp in many recording studios. The HA-6AB is basically an economical 20 watt per channel stereo amplifi er.Unlike a conventional power amp, however, it has six headphone outputs(stereo phone jacks) on the front panel, each with an associated volume control. When used for overdubbing, rehearsal, or in libraries and educational centers, this provides more than adequate volume for all headphones, allowing up tosix people to set their own volume level. In the studio, when overdubbing iscomplete and the musicians remove their headphones, the HA-6AB can powerPEAK OVERLOADLED INDICATORSMASTERLEVELPOWER SWITCHSIGNALPRESENTLEDSCHANNEL #1HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUME CONTROLCHANNEL #2HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUME CONTROLREMOTEHEADPHONEOUTPUTSPEAKEROUTPUTSCHANNEL #3HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUMECHANNEL #4HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUME CONTROLCHANNEL #5HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUME CONTROLSPEAKER "A"ON/OFF SWITCHCHANNEL #6HEADPHONE OUTPUTAND VOLUME CONTROLMONOINPUTREMOTE OUTPUTON/OFF SWITCHPOWER ON LEDINDICATOR1/4"BALANCEDINPUTSGROUND LIFTSWITCHXLR BALANCEDINPUTSF u r m a n S o u n d , I n c . • 1 9 9 7 S . the recorded playback through either (or both) of twosets of passive studio monitor speakers, selected bypressing front panel pushbuttons. Without the HA-6AB, a separate amp would be needed for the studiospeakers. The HA-6AB also features a convenient inputlevel control on the left side of the front panel. Apair of yellow LED’s—one for each channel—lightup whenever signal is present (threshold -28 dBu).Another pair of red LED’s show an overload conditionin either channel. The Furman HA-6AB’s 20 watts-per-channelmake it ideal as a low distortion headphone driverfor the most critical listening situations. While mostheadphone amps provide half a watt or less perheadphone channel, the HA-6AB’s higher power candrive headphones of any impedance to their full ratedlistening level, and do so with minimal noise anddistortion. Its power capacity is also just right for smallnear fi eld monitor speakers used in most recordingstudios as a comparison with the main control roommonitors—it can power them without overpoweringthem. On the studio fl oor, a set of small monitorspeakers driven by the HA-6AB can make a sessionprogress more effi ciently by giving the musiciansa chance to hear a playback without needing todisconnect themselves from their equipment andHA-6AB SPECIFICATIONSOUTPUTS:Power:Connectors:Remote:INPUTS:Input Impedance:Sensitivity:Connectors:20 watts per channel, stereo, intoeither 4 ohms or 8 ohms, 20 Hz to20 KHz.Speakers A: 5-way binding posts(accommodates dual bananaplugs, spade lugs, bare wires, etc.)Speakers B: SatelliteMale XLR.20K ohms.-4 dBV (635 mv) required for fulloutput.HA-6AB, both stereo phone(balanced) and XLR (balanced).walk into the control room. The HA-6AB utilizes an efficient toroidal powertransformer for low noise operation and low magneticleakage, as required in a studio environment. It isfully protected against thermal overload, and it canwithstand a short circuit on any or all outputs for anindefi nite time without damage.THREE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTYThe Furman HA-6AB and HR-2 are protected bya limited three-year warranty covering defects inmaterials and workmanship.ACCESSORYModel HR-2Headphone RemoteStation: A compact, unobtrusive boxthat clamps to a mikestand or belt, providingtwo headphone jacks, eachwith its own volume HR-2 Headphone Remotecontrol.
