That this signifies from one origin isevident from the signification of “sons” as being truths (see n. 489,491, 533, 1147, 2623, 3373); and from the signification of “father”as being good (n. 2803, 3703, 3704). Hence “sons of a father”signifies truths from good, thus from one origin; moreover, alltruths are from one good.5516. One is not. That this signifies that the Divine spiritualsource does not appear is evident from what was said above (n.5444), where the same words occur.5517. And the youngest is this day with our father. That thissignifies that by him there is adjunction to spiritual good is evidentalso from what was unfolded above (see n. 5443), where the samewords occur. It is said to be “by him,” because the intermediatewhich is represented by Benjamin proceeds from the celestial of thespiritual, which is “Joseph.”5518.
