14 Seton Catholic SchoolNew FacultyIn addition to Mrs. Alestock, the 2011-12 year brings some additional new faces to the Seton Catholic Schoolcampus and community. Please welcome the following new faculty and staff!Kristan Heller brings a lifelong commitment to Catholic education – both personally andprofessionally. She is a graduate of St. Paul’s North Canton Elementary School, Saint ThomasAquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio, and John Carroll University.Prior to joining the Seton Catholic School staff, Mrs. Heller taught at St. Hilary School inFairlawn, Hudson United Methodist, and Holy Family School in Stow.Mrs. Kristan Heller7 th & 8 th Grade Religion“As a teacher in a Catholic school, I look forward to helping young people discovertheir walk with the Lord. We are all called by God to walk with the Lordduring our journey of life.”Mr. Jon Prochnow serves as our Licensed School Psychologist.Mr. Prochnow began his career as a special education teacher with Kent Cityschools. He worked as a school psychologist with students in grades K-12.Since 2007, he has been the school psychologist at Archbishop Hoban High School.Mr. Jonathan ProchnowSchool PsychologistMr. Prochnow helps plan, implement and monitor interventions. He works withadministrators, teachers and parents to further school success for their students. He mayprovide group and individual counselling services along with whole class education on topicssuch as anger management, conflict resolution and social skills.Miss Brittany Valentine comes back to Seton as a proud graduate ready to play a significantrole in the lives of her second grade students just as she was blessed by her own Setonteachers many years ago.Miss Valentine is a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School and Saint Francis University. Aftercollege, she taught middle school and played semi-professional soccer in Sweden. She holds alicense from the Ohio Department of Education in Early Childhood Education.Ms. Brittany ValentineSecond Grade“More than any other program of education sponsored by the Church,the Catholic school has the opportunity and obligation to be unique,contemporary, and oriented to Christian service.”Mrs. Christi-Ann Vaughn teaches 7 th and 8 th grade English and 7 th grade Reading.Mrs. Vaughn is a graduate of Georgian Court University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in bothEnglish and Education. Previous to Seton, Mrs. Vaughn taught junior high language arts forthree years in Allentown, New Jersey.She is a published author of poetry, creative writing, and public speaking units.
