14 Se<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong>New FacultyIn addition <strong>to</strong> Mrs. Ales<strong>to</strong>ck, <strong>the</strong> 20<strong>11</strong>-12 year brings some additional new faces <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong>campus and community. Please welcome <strong>the</strong> following new faculty and staff!Kristan Heller brings a lifelong commitment <strong>to</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> education – both personally andprofessionally. She is a graduate of St. Paul’s North Can<strong>to</strong>n Elementary <strong>School</strong>, Saint ThomasAquinas High <strong>School</strong> in Louisville, Ohio, and John Carroll University.Prior <strong>to</strong> joining <strong>the</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> staff, Mrs. Heller taught at St. Hilary <strong>School</strong> inFairlawn, Hudson United Methodist, and Holy Family <strong>School</strong> in S<strong>to</strong>w.Mrs. Kristan Heller7 th & 8 th Grade Religion“As a teacher in a <strong>Catholic</strong> school, I look forward <strong>to</strong> helping young people discover<strong>the</strong>ir walk with <strong>the</strong> Lord. We are all called by God <strong>to</strong> walk with <strong>the</strong> Lordduring our journey of life.”Mr. Jon Prochnow serves as our Licensed <strong>School</strong> Psychologist.Mr. Prochnow began his career as a special education teacher with Kent Cityschools. He worked as a school psychologist with students in grades K-12.Since 2007, he has been <strong>the</strong> school psychologist at Archbishop Hoban High <strong>School</strong>.Mr. Jonathan Prochnow<strong>School</strong> PsychologistMr. Prochnow helps plan, implement and moni<strong>to</strong>r interventions. He works withadministra<strong>to</strong>rs, teachers and parents <strong>to</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>r school success for <strong>the</strong>ir students. He mayprovide group and individual counselling services along with whole class education on <strong>to</strong>picssuch as anger management, conflict resolution and social skills.Miss Brittany Valentine comes back <strong>to</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n as a proud graduate ready <strong>to</strong> play a significantrole in <strong>the</strong> lives of her second grade students just as she was blessed by her own Se<strong>to</strong>nteachers many years ago.Miss Valentine is a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High <strong>School</strong> and Saint Francis University. Aftercollege, she taught middle school and played semi-professional soccer in Sweden. She holds alicense from <strong>the</strong> Ohio Department of Education in Early Childhood Education.Ms. Brittany ValentineSecond Grade“More than any o<strong>the</strong>r program of education sponsored by <strong>the</strong> Church,<strong>the</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> school has <strong>the</strong> opportunity and obligation <strong>to</strong> be unique,contemporary, and oriented <strong>to</strong> Christian service.”Mrs. Christi-Ann Vaughn teaches 7 th and 8 th grade English and 7 th grade Reading.Mrs. Vaughn is a graduate of Georgian Court University, holding a Bachelor of Arts in bothEnglish and Education. Previous <strong>to</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n, Mrs. Vaughn taught junior high language arts forthree years in Allen<strong>to</strong>wn, New Jersey.She is a published author of poetry, creative writing, and public speaking units.
