4 Se<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong>From <strong>the</strong> Board ChairDear Friends of Se<strong>to</strong>n,June 20<strong>11</strong>It was an honor <strong>to</strong> serve as Chair of <strong>the</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rsfor <strong>the</strong> past two years. I am confident that our board is currently one of <strong>the</strong>highest functioning and most focused groups since <strong>the</strong> inception of <strong>the</strong> school.On behalf of <strong>the</strong> Board, I would like <strong>to</strong> thank Harry Selner for his four years ofservice as Principal of Se<strong>to</strong>n. He captivated our community upon his firstintroduction and kept us engaged with his energetic style and passion for ourstudent’s success. He did well <strong>to</strong> fill <strong>the</strong> shoes of his long standing predecessor, ashe patiently made a great deal of positive changes. He raised <strong>the</strong> academic barand enhanced <strong>the</strong> spiritual experience all while he came <strong>to</strong> know every student in<strong>the</strong> building. His legacy will continue as he was very influential in recruiting andselecting his successor.I am proud <strong>to</strong> welcome Karen Ales<strong>to</strong>ck as Se<strong>to</strong>n’s third Principal. With each leadership transition, Se<strong>to</strong>ncontinues <strong>to</strong> be blessed. Mrs. Ales<strong>to</strong>ck comes <strong>to</strong> Se<strong>to</strong>n with a wealth of experience and an abundance ofenthusiasm <strong>to</strong> continue <strong>the</strong> momentum <strong>to</strong>wards academic and spiritual greatness. Her numerous strengthsappear <strong>to</strong> be perfectly matched with Se<strong>to</strong>n’s needs and stage of development.I would also like <strong>to</strong> welcome and thank Mike Ritenour for assuming <strong>the</strong> Board Chair position for <strong>the</strong>20<strong>11</strong>-2012 school year. Mr. Ritenour has been very influential on all matters since joining <strong>the</strong> board fouryears ago. He has tirelessly led all of <strong>the</strong> facility projects since his arrival and significantly contributed <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>Executive and Nominating committees as well. He was asked by his fellow board members <strong>to</strong> lead, and hegraciously accepted.Most importantly, I want <strong>to</strong> thank all of you who offer your time, talent and treasure <strong>to</strong> help Se<strong>to</strong>n reachfor, and obtain, new and higher levels in every aspect of our children’s academic experience. The school’ssuccess is built upon <strong>the</strong> commitment and energy of many. Parents, teachers, staff, and contribu<strong>to</strong>rs playan integral role in <strong>the</strong> excellence of <strong>the</strong> school.
