Thefollowing tips will help you make television a positivepart <strong>of</strong> your children’s environment:Watch TV with your children and interpret thematerial for them. Let them know “what is” and “what isnot” acceptable to watch.Make sure your children understand the differencebetween make-believe and reality.Reduce television’s influence by encouragingeveryone in the family, including adults, to get involvedin a diverse range <strong>of</strong> activities.15
