Hi-Noblepage35Golf ClubGreetings Nobles, Khedive Golf Club’s seasongot under way on March 20th at Red Wing GolfCourse in Virginia Beach with a good turn outof Nobles and guests. Under the guidance andleadership of Nobles Johnnie Chandler and RodRushford we anticipate another fantastic year. Ourcourse schedule is available at the Khedive web siteat www.khediveshrine.org/golf.htm and any Shrinerthat is interested in joining our Club can downloada Membership Form. Should a guest of a Shrinerlike to join our club, please contact Rod Rushford attelephone 421-2800.Bob Boyd, a guest member of our Golf Club andthe Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus,Father Kealey Council # 3548 stated that a generousdonation of $500 from the Knights of Columbus,Council #3548, was presented by Grand KnightMark Wray to the Khedive Shrine Temple for theKhedive Transportation Fund.On March 27th at a windy Honey Bee GolfCourse, guest Ken Emery scored an “ACE” on a ParbY Vice PresidentJerry Edwards3 hole. He was presentedwith $241 from the Hole-in-One Fund that had not hada winner in several years.Members and guests pay $1.00 to be eligible for theHole-in-One challenge.During our outing on April 18th at SewellsPoint Golf Club in Norfolk we had 120 members/guests turn out to play and it was out largest turnout in years. Unfortunately, the classic Donald Rosscourse had dressed the greens with sand the daybefore so our putts were not the best. Dressing thegreens in the spring is a necessity to prepare them forthe long hot summer. It was challenging to get theball to roll true but compared to the special needs ofa crippled or burned child, it was nothing. Shrinershave learned to keep things in perspective. ‘Isn’t itgreat to be a Shriner’.Yours in the Faith,Noble Jerry EdwardsVice PresidentSecond Quarter 2012On 5 April 2012 the Staff held ourscheduled Pot Luck dinner inour unit room.
