Chapter 2Installing the MS-DRG SoftwareINSTALLING THE MEDICARE SEVERITY Diagnosis RelatedGroups (MS-DRG) Software (the grouper) consists of three steps:1. Copying the grouper object library to disk2. Copying the test database to disk3. Link-editing the Assembler subroutines and testing the grouperThe first two steps are discussed in this chapter.Step 3, the procedure for link-editing and testing the programs,depends on the way in which the grouper is implemented at yourinstallation. Chapter 3 explains how to use the grouper utility andcontains JCL for using it to run the test database. Chapter 4 showshow to link-edit the grouper programs for use as subroutines for ahigher-level language. Two COBOL programs using the test databaseare included on the tape, and the JCL for using them to test the installationis included in chapter 4.10/10Installing the MS-DRG Software 2.3
