This year we signed aMemorandum of Understanding with Shanghai MaritimeUniversity and worked on developing relationships with otheruniversities in Asia. Many of our faculty traveled overseas andgave lectures at universities outside the US. An example of such an experience is that of ProfessorSteve Maurer, who was a visiting lecturer at Hong KongPolytechnic University’s School of Business. (And by the way, todemonstrate how small the world of academia has become, I mightmention that the Dean of the business school at Hong Kong Poly,Judy Tsui, has met with four of our faculty this year, includingme! Professor Maurer was extended an invitation to serve asvisiting lecturer in recognition of Dr. Maurer’s outstandingpublishing record.
