GENERAL INFORMATIONGENERAL INFORMATIONNON ACCOUNT/DEPOSIT CUSTOMERSCustomers not holding a credit account with the Company are required to pay aCredit/Debit card deposit at the commencement of the hire period. The amount will varydepending on the equipment hired. Hire fees and any other charges are deducted fromthe deposit on return of items hired. Charges will automatically be made to credit cards ifthe hire continues over two weeks or if the continuing hire charge exceeds the deposit.Positive proof of identification will be required at the start of the hire period i.e. drivinglicence, passport and a recent utility bill. If hiring on behalf of a company an officialorder or letterhead will also be required. Should you wish to use our services regularlyand would like to open an account, we will gladly supply you with an AccountApplication Form. Please ask for details at your local branch.ACCOUNT CUSTOMERSCredit customers do not need to pay deposits. Hire invoices can be raised against acustomers existing Buildbase account for all hire requirements.BASIS OF CHARGING AND PAYMENTHire charges commence from the time shown on the hire contract and continue until hireditems are returned to Hirebase or collected by our transport. All days are chargedincluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. We charge for time out, not time used.Equipment may be provisionally reserved in advance by telephone,email or in writing,together with the payment of a deposit, charged against a credit card, in the case of nonaccountcustomers. Every effort will be made to have the equipment available forcollection or delivered at a time specified by the customer.4DAMAGE WAIVERAvoid the risk of unforeseen charges with our Damage waiver, at an additional 10% ofthe hire charge, damage waiver covers you for the first £500 of repair costs caused byaccidental damage to our equipment whilst on hire.Damage waiver must be taken at the point of hire, the hirer cannot decline damagewaiver then later change their mind. Full details are available on request.HIRE PERIODSA “week” is from four to seven consecutive days inclusive.A “day” is up to 24 consecutive hours.A “weekend” period is from anytime after 3.00pm Friday until 10.00amthe following Monday.www.hirebase.co.uk
SAFETYAll equipment is hired subject to the Hire Association of Europe code of practice. Printedoperating instructions are given with all items hired. We recommend that the appropriateitems of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other protective clothing be worn at alltimes when using or operating hired equipment.Please refer to the safety guide below and throughout this Hire Guide.
