Although I am still in Florida, I am intouch with many of the programs that we as Elksdo for Veterans. The local Elks that I have visited, especially theDelray lodge, are very impressed with all that wedo for the Veterans in our area. Here in Florida it seems that everyone is a Veteranand their most urgent need is transportationto the VA facilities or the hospital. To this endthey have joined forces with the Legion, VFW andthe Fraternal Order of Eagles to provide theneeded transportation for those that need it.On our own front, we will be gearing up for thegolf tournament in May. To this end I have e-mailed the home committee to check out someitems I would like to have completed by the end ofMarch.During the month of January I attended meetingswith the Elks and the other clubs and have beenwarmly received. I wish I had brought some of thepins with me to leave with some of their officersas gifts. Hindsight is a wonderful thing to havebut foresight is better. As always, “REMEMBER THE VET” and saythank you!Joe BigleyChairperson
