36 August <strong>25</strong>, 20<strong>14</strong>Pinewood NewsCOCONINO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS5th ANNUAL HAND & FOOT TOURNAMENT A HUGE SUCCESS!ORDINACE NO. 2007-03AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 85-3, PROVIDING FORTHE REGULATION AND PROHIBITION OF THE RUNNING ATLARGE OF DOGS AND VICIOUS DOGS IN THE UNIN-CORPORATED AREAS OF THE COUNTY OFCOCONINO.SECTION THREEThe owner, or other person acting for the owner of a dog shall at all times keepsuch dog from being or running at large upon the streets, sidewalks, alleys, or publicproperty of unincorporated areas of the County, unless such dog is restrained bya leash, cord, rope or chain of not more than 6 feet in length and of sufficientstrength to control the action of the dog. This provision also includes land under thecontrol of both State and Federal Government.The owner or person acting for the owner, of a dog shall at all times keep such dogfrom being or running at large upon or about the private premises of any personwho has not granted permission therefore.While the dog is on the owner’s property, such dog shall be confined within theowner’s property by a suitable enclosure. A suitable enclosure must consist ofproper fencing that is maintained and appropriate for the keeping of a dog, properlocking mechanism, proper height, and built in such a way that a dog cannot dig orcrawl under fencing. Suitable enclosure may include an: invisible fence that is properlymaintained, or a dog run that allows the dog to comfortably move around butdoes not allow the dog to jump over the top or dig under. The atmosphere was festive with balloons and colorfulinformational posters. Door prizes of $5 each were awarded throughoutthe day to 22 lucky players. The club served a delicious buffett that drew highcompliments. Thanks to Austin and Paul for making this tournament anothersuccess!
