Oakite ® EnhanceLiquid additive that improves wetting and emulsifying action ofacidic, alkaline or water-miscible solvent cleaners.PRIMARY APPLICATIONOakite Enhance is a liquid additive designed to improve the performance of primary cleaningsolutions. Suitable for use with moderately acidic, alkaline or water-miscible solvent materials, inspray washers or soak tanks, Enhance helps remove difficult soils such as oils, grease, drawingcompounds and shop soils that might normally require impractical and costly increases in time, temperature or concentration of the base material. A real energy-saver, the material permitsremoval of difficult soils at reduced temperatures. Oakite Enhance is particularly useful as anadditive to three-stage Oakite CrysCoat iron phosphating materials, substantially improvingcleaning results. Non-silicated, non-phosphated, biodegradable, the material may also be usedalone as a neutral cleaner in spray washing machines. Oakite Enhance is authorized by theUSDA for use as an additive at 1/2 of 1% to 4% by volume (approximately 20% to 40% of initialbase material charge) of an entire cleaning solution containing any Oakite material authorized (byUSDA) for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants.CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICSchemical composition................................................blend of detergents and solventsphysical form .............................................................Iight-yellow liquidodor ...........................................................................slight aromaticspecific gravity (approx.) ...........................................1.057 at 20°C (68°F)bulk density ...............................................................1057 g/ at 20°C (8.8 lb/gal at 68°F)flash point .................................................................nonefoaming tendency......................................................Iow at 49°C (1 20°F) or above;moderate to high belowrecommended diluent................................................ water or water solutions of acidic, alkaline orwater-miscible solvent materialsmaximum solubility ....................................................completebehavior in hard water ..............................................goodrinsability ...................................................................goodbiodegradable surfactants.........................................yesphosphate-free ..........................................................yesnormal working concentrations .................................1/2 to 4% by volume of the entire cleaningsolutionnormal operating temperatures.................................ambient to 160°F max.pH at working concentrations....................................4.0 concentrated; assumes pH of basematerial when used as an additive

Generally, whether added to acidic, alkaline or water-miscible solvent materials,in tanks or spray washers, or used alone in spray washers, Enhance should be used between 1/2and 4% by volume of the total cleaning solution. Recommended temperatures range fromambient to 140-160°F maximum in spray washers and tank installations.Solution Control: There is no titration procedure for Oakite Enhance. Upkeep additions shouldbe made at the original, predetermined ratio. When used alone, solutions of Enhance may becontrolled by refractometer (available from Chemetall Oakite). Each percent by volume ofEnhance equals 0.5 on the refractometer scale.EQUIPMENTThe Chemetall Oakite Chemical Metering Pump can be used to automatically maintain the makeup chemical requirement of this product. If predilution is required, the Chemetall Oakite waterdriven Proportioners can be used to automatically feed the premixed solution of this product tothe process tank. Please contact the Chemetall Oakite Process Equipment and EngineeringDepartment for specific recommendations.NOTES ON USE (See Material Safety Data Sheet)When used alone, no special tanks or coils are required. When used as an additive, the primarymaterial determines necessary equipment.Safety and Handling Precautions: Oakite Enhance is an industrial detergent-cleaner additive.Direct contact causes irritation of eyes.
