Going for GreenFollowing the renewal in 2004 of <strong>UNU</strong>’s ISO14001 certification, in March <strong>2005</strong> <strong>UNU</strong>Centre and <strong>UNU</strong>-IAS completed the ISO14001 periodic audit of the <strong>UNU</strong> environmentalmanagement system with registrar DNV Japan. This environmental management systemhas continued to support <strong>UNU</strong>’s research and capacity-building agenda in environment andsustainable development by improving workplace practices at <strong>UNU</strong> Centre in Tokyo and<strong>UNU</strong>-IAS in Yokohama. <strong>UNU</strong> was the first UN agency (and the fifth academic institution inJapan) to obtain ISO14001 certification.
