Trigg who in 1916 becameDenton County’s first home demonstration agent and was posthumously inducted intothe Agricultural Hall of Fame in 1991. Ms. Capps will tell how these two women and manyothers have made significant contributions to the growth and development of DentonCounty. Not only will Ms. Capps share the historical facts about these many women, butshe will tell anecdotal stories of lesser known events in these women’s lives.Ms. Capps is a well-known civic leader in Denton. She currently serves as chair ofthe Denton County Historic Commission, has been a member of the Denton HistoricLandmark Commission and is a member of various local civic organizations. She is therecipient of the CARA Award from the Greater Denton Arts Council in recognition to thecultural arts of Denton. In addition to being very knowledgeable local historian who is wellversedin local architectural styles, she is a talented vocalist who frequently performs forvarious organizations in the Denton area. Professionally, she is a realtor who is a “HistoricHouse Specialist.”All exhibits and lectures are free and open to the public. Thecourthouse has handicapped parking and accessibility through thenorth entrance. The Courthouse-on-the-Square Museum is locatedin the historic Denton County Courthouse at 110 W.
