***Volunteer Program Mission Statement***The mission of the Vilas Zoo Volunteer Program is to advance and promote thecontinued success of the Henry Vilas Park Zoo by offering to the public; educationsurrounding animals and the importance of protecting biodiversity throughout the world.Also, enhancing a quality recreational experience at the zoo for visitors and helping tofacilitate fundraising activities is essential. In support of this mission, volunteers:• Support and enhance the education and conservation mission of the HenryVilas Zoo through regular participation in on-going educational effortssuch as the EdZOOcation program, the Animal Ambassador program, andother educational initiatives.• Provide direct assistance and accurate information to Zoo visitors.• Increase community awareness of the Henry Vilas Zoo and its educationalopportunities and fund-raising activities through participation in programssuch as fund-raising programs and special events.• Make visitors feel welcomed and accepted.Zoo Mission StatementThe Mission of Henry Vilas Zoo is to join with other zoos to save and protect thewonders of the living natural world and to provide high quality educational andrecreational experiences for over 500,000 visitors annually, giving them an opportunity tolearn about and enjoy animals.Henry Vilas Park Zoological SocietyStatement of PurposeThe purpose of the Henry Vilas Park Zoological Society is to promote the Henry VilasZoo.
