Threetracks, some with bypasses, providefor the fast transfer of parts. In thewarehouse, different componentsare laid onto the Shuttles of theMontrac system. Each Shuttle isidentified by a unique ID numberwhich allows to define the processingstages downstream and theroute that each Shuttle will followthrough the plant.A key factor for the selection of theMontrac system were its excellentantistatic properties which, besidesreducing wear dramatically, protectthe parts from dust. In this way,Triom could eliminate the use ofdust-repelling guns.For Triom, it was also important toavoid any risk in case the operatorsshould touch the monorail or theShuttles: Montrac is totally safe inthis respect, as it operates at lowvoltage.Another ace in the hole of Montracis its low power consumption, asmuch as 20 times less than equivalentsystems.TRIOM S.P.A.
