Qabeelat TayybahBasra3. Abu Musa al-Ash’ari hadeeth from her in the form, “From HabibatRasulAllah sal Allahu alayhi wa Sallam (thelove <strong>of</strong> RasulAllah sal Allahu alayhi waSallam)…”.2. Sa’eed ibn Jubayr– He was an authorityon tafseer. He revolted against the Umayyadsand was killed by al-Hajjaj. When he wasabout to be killed and was brought before al-Hajjaj, he publicly made du’aa that he be thelast killed person to be killed by al-Hajjaj.Soon after, al-Hajjaj got sick and no doctorcould cure him. He had a severe disease <strong>of</strong>worms eating him from the inside out andthus he never got to kill anyone else andAllah answered the du’aa <strong>of</strong> Sa’eed.3. ‘Amir ibn Sharaheel ash-Sha’bi – Hehad a very good sense <strong>of</strong> humor, e.g. whenhe was asked if Shaytan had wife he said,“That is not a wedding I attended,” then hesaid, “Yes” based on the ayah <strong>of</strong> Surah Al-Kahf where Allah says to take Iblees and his<strong>of</strong>fsprings as enemies. Also, one day he waswalking with his wife when a man asked,“Which one <strong>of</strong> you is ash-Sha’bi?”, so hepointed to his wife and said, “This one”. Itwas said that ‘Amir used to laugh until hefell rolling on his back. But he was veryserious and sharp when came to hadeeth andknowledge. He was an authority on <strong>Fiqh</strong>.Anas bin Malik – Joined The Prophet(Peace Be Upon Him) when he was 10 yearsold. His mother gave him to the Prophet(Peace Be Upon Him) to serve and learnfrom him. Because <strong>of</strong> this, he learned somuch from Prophet (saw). He said, “I’venever seen anyone as Merciful or asCompassionate as The Prophet (Peace BeUpon Him), he never yelled at me, never saidwhy didn’t you do something or why did youdo something.” Anas related the hadeeth inwhich RasulAllah sal Allahu alayhi waSallam said, “Children were created to makeyou laugh and enjoy this life”. If we look atit this way then we will definitely enjoy ourlives.1. Abu al-‘Aliyah– Was the student andservant <strong>of</strong> Ibn ‘Abbas. His name was Ziadibn Fayroos. He was an authority in Qur’anand Tafseer. When Ibn ‘Abbas saw himcoming, he would clear a space next to himto bring him next to himself because <strong>of</strong> hishigh knowledge.2. Muhammad ibn Sireen – Famous for hisbook on interpretation <strong>of</strong> dreams, but there isno pro<strong>of</strong> that this is his book. He was anauthority on hadeeth and Qur’an. It was saidthat when he entered the marketplace, peoplewould begin to remember Allah just bylooking at his face.
