<strong>VIPER</strong> <strong>Technical</strong> <strong>Manual</strong>Detailed hardware descriptionPC/104 interfaceVLThe <strong>VIPER</strong> PC/104 interface is emulated from the PXA255 PCMCIA interface tosupport 8/16 bit ISA bus style signals. As the interface is an emulation the <strong>VIPER</strong> doesnot support some PC/104 features. Please refer to the Unsupported PC/104 interfacefeatures, page 70, for specific details.Add-on boards can be stacked via the PC/104 interface to enhance the functionality ofthe <strong>VIPER</strong>. Arcom has an extensive range of PC/104 compliant modules and these canbe used to quickly add digital I/O, analog I/O, serial ports, video capture devices, PCcard interfaces, etc.Accessing the PC/104 interfaceThe ISA bus is based on the x86 architecture and is not normally associated with RISCprocessors.
