National Informatics Centre Project Implementation Guidelines – AGMARKNETComputerisation of various functions of Markets can be taken up subsequently with financialassistance either from the Market Committee or DMI as a sponsored project. Project of RajkotMarket Committee implemented, as a pilot project, by NIC State Unit (Gandhinagar) will becustomised for other market committees through out the Country.Training7.2 Necessary training programmes (in batches of about 25) are arranged with the support ofthe NIC State units and NITPUs, for which approved project funds are made available to them.During IX Plan, one official from each market was imparted training under the project. During XPlan, provision has been made to train two officials from each market. The respective StateMarketing Boards/Directorates have to nominate these officials for undergoing at least 5 daystraining on computer handling & awareness and application software, for transmission of data.Further, provision has been made to conduct 3 types of training viz Basic Awarenessprogramme, Research & Analysis and Refresher training. The nominations should be notified toNIC at least 3 weeks in advance.Regional Portals7.3 Refer to Annexure-IIISoftware Tools7.4 At each AGMARKNET node, the following Software Tools are provided:- Operating System - Windows 98/XP preloaded along with the Recovery CD; Office Productivity Tool - Lotus Smart Suite Millennium; and Application Software – “AGMARK”, developed using Lotus Smart Suite, tofacilitate the daily flow of Market Information on prices and arrivals.The software tools earmarked for DMI Headquarters are: Operating System : Windows NT RDBMS : MS SQL Server 7.0NIC-AGRID-AGMARKNET-PIG-001 Version 1.2 Release: 20/07/2004 Page 18 of 40
