National Informatics Centre - Implementing AgencyNational Informatics Centre (NIC) 1is the nodal S&T organization in the Ministry ofCommunications & Information Technology, for informatics development and networking ingovernment, corporate and cooperative sectors for decision support. NIC offers state-of-the-artnetwork services in the country, over C-band and Ku-band (TDMA, FTDMA & SCPC) VSATs,Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) with NICNETgateway for Internet resources, so as to facilitate economic, social, scientific and technologicalactivities, and also for “macro-economic adjustment programme” of the Government.
